I mean, imagine if Groves called Degale a Fuzzy-wuzzy or took the piss out of Afro hair? THis only refers to hair; but he would get slated.
As to Degale's comment, I find it distasteful that he makes that remark publicly on live TV. It's puerile and hateful - red heads are slated, bullied and taken the piss out of mercilessly throughout their lives, just for their complexion and hair. I'm sure a lot of redheads really resent the stick they get / got. I have heard a theory that redheaded men grow up mentally very tough because of the stick they get. All the gingers in MMA seem to be nutters.... :D

Anyway I don't mean to get on any high-horse, and it was by no means a personal attack on you - I know you have a good sense of humour - but I was more referring to the hypocrisy I feel that it's not OK to make remarks of a physical nature about non-white peoples, but whites are just open season (esp Gingers!)

PS I am not ginger myself!
PPS if 'ginger' is not an insult, I'd like to see someone say that to Eamon Magee's face!
PPPS My commiserations for being half-welsh
You make a good point reggae, a strange case of multiple standards in this area, for sure. And I would never even risk saying hello to Eamonn Magee's face, just in case he'd got out of the wrong side of the bed that day! But most importantly, I wonder where Ginger Tshabalala fits into all this?

     or Bruce Scott when he dyed his hair ginger.

ON a serious note I believe Ginger Tsabalala died some time ago. Can't remember how. I sometimes mistake him for Courage Tsabalala (don't know if related) who unfortunately also died 5 years or so ago.

The latter was a prospect who lost for the first time in a big upset to Brian Scott...who sadly dies recently also..

Sad times
I think you're right mate, sadly. I remember Courage well, he had a frightening KO reputation from the amateurs and I interviewed him in Atlantic City, he must have been on a Lennox bill at the time or something. Unfortunately I interviewed him before the fight (vs Brian Scott), on spec so to speak as he was supposed to win, and the interview became redundant just like that, not sure it was ever published. I got caught out like that a few times with heavyweight prospects — John Ruiz two days before the David Tua fight being another example

I went last weekend too. Wasn't as bad as I feared, price wise. Worst round was a bottle of Heineken and a G and T - 24 euros.

We stayed in Cap D'Ail and Monaco Town really...couldn't be arsed to venture to Casino Square, etc as I knew we would be made bankrupt, without even stepping through the doors.

Yeah, but this was a bit of a one off, thank God. We went to a place called 'Black Legend' which was supposed to specialise in soul music. Not a black face to be seen and it was full of bankers of a certain age with their milfs and gilfs.

A pint in most ordinary bars - not that there was many - was your regulation six quid

We don't have souls, this much is true. We just browse the internet looking for ginger-ists, then go and steal those of your loved ones to sell to the divil...

im not sure where that last bit came from, actually. I enjoyed the bit about Mugabi, before my time so it was nice to have a read-up on him.
