I'm not one for making a snap judgement about the foibles & peccadilloes of my fellow posters, but it is quite astonishing the way young Amir gets singled out for opprobrium, innit? No coke & few whores; no wife-beating. Shite driver, but then again I'm a shite driver, & I tell you it's fecking lucky I didn't get access to a 400 BHP motor when I was a teenager, instead of a Citroen AX GT, 'cos then you'd've seen some stuff. & I'd probably be dead.

But he's "arrogant" & "up himself", which is obviously so unlike the vast majority of twenty-three year old male multimillionaires who could probably beat the living shite out of eighty per cent of people they've ever met. Also, obviously, he "Didn't go the traditional route", unlike say Ricky "was it fifty WBU title defences?" Hatton or Frank "British title? What's that?" Bruno, two deeply unpopular British boxers. Curiouser & curiouser.

Also, the loudest & most vociferous of those who do not like him always sound like they're about to say "So anyway, I'm not a racist but..." You don't need to accuse them of anything, they're too busy outing themselves.

Meself, I think he's a talented lad with desperate vulnerabilities. Wish him well & that. I couldn't give a flying fvck if a man's British, Mexican or Ecuadorian, BTW. Nationalism is so 19th Century. Also: I have no truck with religion, but I can't see the sense in singling one particular sky-god worshipping loon out amongst the rest of them (Pacquiao, Barrera, Rahman, Holyfield, Qawi, Foreman etc etc...).

That's probably valid. The bulk of those who take the time to dislike Amir are almost certainly racist and/or Islamaphobes. There's no other glaringly obvious reason to dislike the lad.

Okay, he is a pecker on his Twitter but that stems for him being as thick as two short planks rather than being genuinally malicious.
You cant defend the indefensible! You're not on Khans payroll are you?

Couldn't disagree more. It's not about "taking the time to dislike" him, we all take our time to give our opinions on this forum and my opinion is that I like Khan a lot less than I used to. My reasons are nothing to do with race or religion, but rather the way he has conducted himself - especially with his comments regarding Haroon's non-selection for the English Commonwealth team. I genuinely believe that out of all the posters on here who dislike him, it is a tiny minority who do so because he is Asian/Muslim.

I have gone from liking Khan, to disliking him in the space of a week. His brother has also got an instant dislike from me for the disrespect shown towards McCracken, and I hope he goes pro, and gets his face smashed in quicktime. (I am a Birmingham City fan btw). Even Gavin said on another thread he talks shite. It is a current issue, and deserves to be discussed, as we have one of our top boxers acting like a complete tool on twitter, and it is amusing to be honest. Saying that, I will still support him in his next fight, but for how long depends on his attitude.

No racial issue here 100%
