Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
Cameron versus McCracken is on the Green/Flores undercard in Perth, what do people think?
I'm going for a Cameron stoppage in about 6.

Definately be a good fight. I reckon many would watch this fight in NZ and Australia especially, no Im not trying to say its a NZ vs Aus thing but most of the interest would be from these two countries.
These 2 will go to a decision IMO however if its to end in a KO it'll be Shane doing the knocking out IMO.

Cameron KO.....
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
Shane Cameron decision winner 78-74, not a very interesting fight, This fails to register here. Green v Flores, thats what Australia wants.

Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
I'm not sure Green putting on weight is actually the best thing for him. He was never a natural SMW, but has always been a natural LHW. I'm sure he could still make LHW now, although it would almost certainly weaken him somewhat. I believe that while fighting at LHW Green generally walked around at about 86kg/190lb, so I would guess that his current walking weight would be a little over that. More bulk could slow Green down, which is exactly what he doesn't need against Flores.
We know Flores will weigh 200lb, I don't think Green should really come in any heavier than 190lb, 10lb at this size doesn't make a great difference.

yeah sounds about right acording to hyder he is about he is between 87 and 88 kgs now and looking good, i wonder if he started putting on weight in july right after the briggs fight rather just after he confirmed flores . if he carries the weight well in this fight maybe he could be a reel danger to the rest of the top end cruisers
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
Has anyone seen him with the extra weight?
I remember thinking he was a little 'soft' around the midsection in his promo's for his last few fights. If he has put weight on I hope he has done it the right way.

Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
Cameron will beat McCracken easy.
He is looking sharp in the gym and getting back to 90.7kg is a more realistic and natural weight for Cameron
who always struggled to be a heavyweight. He was an awesome amateur at 91kgs knocking out Adam Forsyth on at least one occasion and stopping him on points in another.

yeah i remember him looking slightly podgy just before siaca but i think he looked better for briggs fight though.
its hard to tell from his latest facebook photo but i can only imagine he has be sensibly about it.
i asked hyder and he reckons he looks massive at the heavier weight, not sure if he means bulky though.
oh well fingers crossed
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken

Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
Hopefully that's the final nail in the coffin of the potential Green vs Cameron fight. Cameron himself said he would need a KO win to become a viable DG opponent.
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
I missed this fight. I set the IQ to record but the bloody thing only kicked in during the Wilson - Bryce fight
Sounds like I missed an interesting fight?

Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
Good back and firth fight but McCracken definitely should have got the nod. Cameron is very limited these days, I thought he was much better at HW to be honest.
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
Surely that knocks a Green fight on the head?
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
i hope so, be just as short as cameron v tua if not shorter. but def way more insignificant.Marlin wrote:Surely that knocks a Green fight on the head?
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
It was a very close fight for first 9 rounds and the scorecards were hard to separate and one has to give both fighters their credit as one would tee off and then the other would counter. Cameron spilt a lot of blood and that gave the impression that he took a lot of punishment, which he did but he gave just as much back and won 2 of the last 3 rounds (spliting the 11th) and on my scorecard that gave it to him by a narrow margin. The judges scorecards were unkind to McCraken who put in a determined effort.
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
I saw the fight exactly as the previous poster (Beltane) did, I scored it 115-114 Cameron. I thought McCracken fought a career best fight and could have easily been given the decision. On the basis of that fight I can't see Cameron troubling Green, if the fight was fought at the cruiserweight limit then obviously Cameron would have one thing in his favour, but I just see him as too easy for Green to hit.
Re: Shane Cameron versus Anthony McCracken
I did the timekeeping on this fight, I kept a scorecard for myself. I had Cameron winning by 2 points. 115-113 Great fight.
