Sky Sports US fights
Should sky show more boxing from the US? They used to show much more years ago. Which of these major fights is likely to end up on sky:
Pacquiao v Margarito 13/11
Martinez v Williams 20/11
Marquez v katsdis 27/11
Pacquiao v Margarito 13/11
Martinez v Williams 20/11
Marquez v katsdis 27/11
Re: Sky Sports US fights
Can see them showing the pac fight and probably the Katsidis fight if we are lucky.leforge wrote:Should sky show more boxing from the US? They used to show much more years ago. Which of these major fights is likely to end up on sky:

All 3, I'd imagine.

Re: Sky Sports US fights
Manny Pacuqiao's fight with Antonio Margarito falls on the same night as David Haye's fight with Audley Harrison which is going to be on Box Office, so I would not be surprised if they stuck that fight on the same Pay Per View bill as Haye's, the other two fights I would be expecting to be shown on normal Sky Sports.
Re: Sky Sports US fights
Sky definitely seem to be in the Pacman business, so I agree they will most likely bolt it on the Haye PPV
JMM and Katsidis both have a profile over here and are potential Khan opponents, so assuming Sky are about to invest in Amir again, it makes a lot of sense to broadcast this.
Martinez - Williams on the face of it has less of an 'investment/ British interest' angle, but Sky have given Williams an almost strange amount of coverage over the years.
The Cintron debacle may have killed that momentum though. As ever, Ian Darke called a spade a spade that night live on sky.

Re: Sky Sports US fights
They will no doubt show PacMan/Margo, they'd look like a bunch of nutless monkeys if they didn't. Other two prob not, though Marquez/Katsidis is shaping up to be one of the fights of the year, so hopeful for that one.
Re: Sky Sports US fights
Pac Man / Margarito = Sky
Williams / Martinez II = Premier Sports
Marquez / Katsidis = Sky
In my opinion.

Re: Sky Sports US fights
Sky need to show more top us boxing! I can't get premier sports!
Re: Sky Sports US fights
I wonder if Sky will begin to debate the value of showing us Pac-man for gratis when the end game of PPV revenue from a PBF mega fight is looking less and less likely.
Sorry to be cynical but it's all Sky give a toss about.

I can't see Sky showing 3 US cards in 3 consecutive weekends. OK, they have been interested in Williams in the past, but I think they will only do 13/11 and 27/11.
I reckon they will show us Bradley - Alexander too.
Re: Sky Sports US fights
Sky never show Paul Williams but they did show Marquez v Diaz, and with Katsidis having beaten Mitchell that will definitley be on, so will Pacman.
