Eastside boxing

What do people on here think of that site?

The site seems to be anti maloney!

I look at it's contents about a dozen times a day but generally don't post on there. On the Eastside British forum, I find that a few of the posters spoil it by just being so ultra negative and insulting. Everyone is obviously entitled to an opinion but I don't have a lot of time for anyone who describes people they've never met as cxxts and the like. If you slag off a boxer, you can probably always claim vindication one day, everyone tends to lose in the end. It takes more intuition to ear mark someone you expect to do well. Reading some of the posts you can't help questioning if the authors actually really do like the sport.

It's a shithole, full of degenerates and should be hacked and turned into a forum for equestrian enthusiasts.
I don't even look on there any more.
This forum is a million times better :TU:

I haven't been on there much, but it can't be worse than Boxing News 24. I have never read one article there and then thought to myself 'this isn't a piece of absolute shit.'

I didn't know that!

Well then, I think Eastside boxing is a terrible website. The articles they put out are beyond dreadful.

I wouldn't have said the thread your on about is anti maloney there is a lot of comments praising the cards he has put on this year. It's just some if the matches his top prospects are in are a bit underwhelming people would like to see the likes of Dallas n price moved on.

Click on 'forum' on boxingnews24 and you go straight into the ESB forum.

Im amazed that the 'articles' and I use that term loosely, are indexed by Google news and newsnow.co.uk.

Because for the most part, they are no better than forum posts. I actually think many are there to stir up a frenzy of traffic, all busily arguing in the comments section.

i think that forum is a waste of time and i am putting that very politely. I have never read more insulting posts about me than on that forum. As Ed said, you have to question whether these people actually like the sport. I have never claimed anything outlandish and don't shoot my mouth off and if people don't think i am good, fair enough, but then don't insult me like i have done something to u like rape your dog or the like. I mean some of the things i have read on there used to really bother me until i realised that most of them don't know much about boxing and wouldn't say that stuff to my face.

Look there about once a week to see if I've missed anything, but haven't posted there in years and years. Everybody who's already posted on here has explained why - infantile posters in many cases and a complete lack of reasoned debate. Just bizarre that people who claim to be fans and who are passionate enough about the game to visit a dedicated forum use it to largely vent bile...

I have a look at their British boxing forum roughly every day, but I don't post there.

They will often have threads about things that are not being discussed here, so I find it useful to keep an eye on the place.

I was thinking that just now...

Eastside is banned in China so it isn't even an issue, when it first opened shop though it was full of white nationalists and supremacists posting on there. The owners asked me to write for them because they felt that Eastern European heavyweights weren't get the coverage they deserved. I declined their offer but used the forum and I remember getting banned for arguing against the nazi/wn filth that festered those forums. They never got banned so yeah - keep away.. :-?

I've never been on it personally, this one has more than enough info, personalities and gossip on it. And it's interesting to see the boxers on here rubbish it - your included in that Mr.Robinson - I saw you box on a Panix promotions bill at elephant and castle leisure centre years ago :TU:

Barely post outside the lounge there, the lounge has some of the craziest, funniest stuff I've seen. The lounge has some crazy yanks though who go mental when you have a liberial opinion or posters who think with their nuts more than their brains asl though. Never read the articles since they are usually not good.

Actually, Eastside has more gossip and is generally quicker off the mark with news, I generally only post on the Irish thread on the general forum, I dont think I ever post on any other thread on the general forum. I never even enter into the Lounge, for someone that is as easily baited as I, I think I could explode with the rampant levels of ignorance. I've begun to post more on the British forum since I started Boxing-Ireland.com because of the volumes of traffic over there, for example 15.6% of the traffic to Boxing-Ireland.com came from Eastside whereas only 1.45% came from BoxRec. Also the average Eastside readers stays and reads 2.5 pages and BoxRec users read less that 1.5 pages - make of that what you will.

I did however once get a weeks ban over there six months ago when there was exactly the same but opposite discussion over there when I said that the level of debate was far superior over here.

ESB does get a lot of traffic (but not more than BoxRec) and I post on there occasionally.

There are some very good posters over there (though not legion in number) and the site does unearth the occasional nugget to make it worthwhile.

I visit a few times a week but don't stay there for very long.

BoxRec News' reach is quite wide. Someone logged on from the Northern Mariana Islands recently. Never heard of 'em

its forum generates significantly more traffic - quanity certainly not being quality.

In our four months we've had 85 countries, including the Solomon and Caymen Islands - although 87% of hits are from Ireland and Britain.

Yes, it might generate significantly more traffic for YOUR site. But that won't apply to everyone.

That's good going in four months. Then again, globally, you always meet an Irish fight fan wherever you go.

BoxRec News has about double that in terms of countries. One of our biggest readerships, for some reason, is Canada.

And the main BoxRec site, obviously, has even more. A 'phenom' in this little niche world.
