Results from K2 leisure centre Crawley

Post by Craig14 »

Here's the results from last night.
Lightweight. 6x3 Tony Owen wpts6 Jason Nesbitt (60-54)
Light-middle 4x3 Scott Woolford wpts4 Ryan Clark (39-37)
Cruiserweight 4x3 Dan Woodgate lpts4 Sammy Couzens (37-39)
*I had this one 39-38 to Woodgate*-even Couzens looked suprised, it was the fight of the night.
Welterweight 6x2 Ross Payne wpts6 Karl Taylor (60-55)
L.Middle 4x3 Nicky Jedman lrsc4 Andrew Patterson (1 min 12 secs.)
On debut Jedman won every round but got caught by a cracking sucker-punch much to the dis-may of his army of supporters.
Super-feather 6x3 Ben Jones wpts6 Yordan Vasilev (60-54)

Jedman had won every minute of every round vs patterson and was too big for paddy who is only a welter realy, good kid and heel come back from that a better fighter just walked into a big shot when he should have been boxing as he had been already.
I thought cousins won it 39 38 cracking scrap and will do woodgate no harm who showed big balls anyway taking a 5 .2 opp on in his second fight

Last night it took 3 and a half hours for the 6 fight card, incredible.
It was the worst run show I've ever been to. On the Dan Woodgate-Sam Couzens fight the guy next to me had it 39-38 Couzens and the general opinion seemed to suggest it could have been a draw atleast but your right it was a gutsy performance from Woody in only his 2nd fight and it would be a cracking re-match.
I was told (by his sponser) that Jedman had over a hundred 100 amateur fights.

yeh we was meant to be on second then was on 5th and had to drive 150 miles back to bham so hopefully next time runs a bit smoother lol.
I dont think woody needs a rematch yet thats tough match making im a fan of good fights but that was a very hard second fight.

Patterson had 4 am fights and took the fight at 48 hours notice but hes a tough kid and he usualy gives the crowd a good scrap too watch

He told me he was mean't to be fighting Jamie Ambler but Ambler pulled out with a cut, so yeah good on him for taking this tough fight, I met him last night for the first time and he was an absolute gentlemen and gracious in defeat. And JonP. are you management or do you train the lads? I saw Jim Evans plastered over the back of some of the lads gounds and on the seconds but I thought he was out Berkshire way tied up with sprott and some home counties fighters.

And Patterson looked much better than his 1-12-3 record suggested. Great punch.

I am glad I went but in all honesty it wasn't the best. It just makes me think how special the york hall is.

Wednesday - shame I would have loved to have watched Groves, the british supermiddleweight division is looking fantastic. Who else is on the bill?

cheers lads glad you enjoyed the fight and yid was good to meet ya mate all the best for the winter and i'll see ya when ya back mate. as far as the fight goes yeah it was a tough fight and no i don't want many of them but it was literally take the couzens fight or not fight at all our hands were tied a bit and i'm not gonna not fight i'd waited too long already. i'm not too proud to say it wasn't the right fight at the right time but what a fight it was i'm not really a fighter that tries to get into wars but i certainly didn't mind saturday lol. had a lot of problems before the fight with colds and throat infections but i'm a fighter I wanna fight. No excuses tho weather i feel it was the right decision or not the decision stands and all I can do is dust myself off and get ready for the next one I love the sport and am even more determined now to get to where I think I've got the talent to go and thats to the top but we will see. again cheers lads all the best Woody!!!
