UK Boxing supporters club
This is something I have been mulling over, I was thinking about starting a boxing supporters club where I would arrange trips to fights, Nights out, Maybe even hire halls/working mens clubs and have a boxing night with classic fights on the big screen...
News letter etc etc
Who would be interested?
Please also use this thread to add any ideas you might have!

Yes, thats not a bad idea. Although my general experience of such clubs (in other areas) is that it will end in tears. Some people will become disgrundled of the quality of the newsletters etc and also it will have to have some kind of membership fee (which will also cause some friction).
It does sound like a damn good idea though.

How about a 'Phoenix from the Flames' type of evening? Boxrec lads can recreate classic moments from ring history.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Where? I'm not travelling up to huddersfield to watch re-runs of Benn v Eubank 1 and 2.
This would be mine: "Tonight, Hardhitters, I'm going to be Tony Galento in the third round of his 1939 challenge against Joe Louis!"
Cue dry ice...a pair of shorts will make the remarkable transition complete.
Seriously HH, it's a good idea but why not simply use this forum to do it? Would save you a lot of hard work in newsletters, etc. Nice one.

Ahh you mean a sort of boxing 'stars in their eyes.' Yes, I can see if now Ian, I guess HH gets to be Matthew Kelly.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:How about a 'Phoenix from the Flames' type of evening? I'd say it's a good call. Certainly having a membership, newsletter, journal or something would be good, and it would be good to have some sort of real UK-wide boxing club with some sort of recognition and support.
Then you'd have potential for organising trips to big fights and stuff. If there was enough members and it became established, you could probably get discounts for mass bookings. Then you could organise a big outing a year to NY or something, hopefully get some discounts with travel operators or something to make the group booking worth while.
Good idea

good idea - i had an idea to do something similar but on a large scale where u pay a membership fee but then tickets and travel wud be arranged for u and also if there were a large number of members i wud have tried to sort out some sort of agreement with promoters for cheaper tickets because i would be buying a lot of tickets. Real busy these days tho so dnt have time.
