Re: Green vs Flores on Premier Sports
the blind love some of the aussies have for danny green on ESB is ridiculous, hes so over rated over there. even my aussie family are fooled.
i think flores beats green hands down if we can avoid any shocking referee blunders...

I'm a big fan of The Green machine. This is his first fight against a proper cruiser but green is tough and a big puncher. i'd fancy lores to take him a few rounds before being stopped maybe halfway.

It's just good news that Premier are actually trying and not charging too much. I mean so far they have shown some fights that Primetime would charge at least £10 for and Premier is £6.99 a month.
It's not a massively interesting fight but live boxing on uk tv is better than nothing.

I'm gonna have to get this channel as their boxing coverage seems pretty constant, anyone know if they've they got much lined up? (feck all on the website). I'm concerned I'll get the channel and then be stuck with no boxing and only GayLick fussball as compensation

it is by danny green's standards.robpalmer135 wrote:Not the greatest fight
intriguing matchup, and could be a good fight. could be terrible, if flores runs and green plods. but it could also be an exciting style contrast if both fight with urgency and determinaytion.
biggest opponent of green's career, a genuine cruiserweight is flores, so it's a fight that has more than novelty value i'd argue.

Better than nothing but to be honest I want more for my subscription. But the way Premier have set up their payment system makes it a hard call as to whether or not you want to cancel. It's a month to month deal, so you can cancel any time. But then to rejoin, you have to pay the seven quid or whatever, plus the initial hidden fiver "card charge" on top that you pay when you first subscribe. So you have the choice of either canceling your sub when there's very little boxing on the channel, which there hasn't been since that burst a month or so ago, in the knowledge that to rejoin you will actually be paying more than you would for a Primetime PPV. Or you can just keep paying and hope there will be some fights. Cunning bastards.

That's one of the options, as I said. I tend not to go by what people promise though. Personally I'll give Premier until Xmas before dropping them. If they haven't got something sorted and announced by then I will view it as cause for concern. After all they are a Setanta offshoot and I remember all the promises that network didn't keep.

Re: Green vs Flores on Premier Sports
Whats Flores like? I've never seen him box apart from a few clips on youtube.Has he got a chance against Green? Green is frustrating for me as he is tough, fit and hard punching and gives the impression that he is willing to go in with anyone, yet he doesn't which tells me that he must be lacking some belief in his abilities. What are peoples thoughts on this?
Re: Green vs Flores on Premier Sports
my thought is that he's carefully matched, knowing he's the draw and doesn't always have to take risks that could bring him in the path of, say, a damaging puncher. he can be the draw, and rake in the ozzie TV money, on this catchweight run of fights against old men. or at least he could, until the paul briggs fiasco. oz tv must be insisting on a "world class" opponent, and the talented but tentative flores is what they've come up with.
seen flores outbox darnell wilson, showing good speed and mobility for a big man. but little belief in his abilities, as there was much running, holding, hitting from too far out of range. to his credit he seems to have settled down on a couple of roy jones jr undercards. flores i believe became a free agent, i think someone connected to him was putting threads up on boxrec current forum (thopugh my memory may be playing tricks), meaning: nobody wants him. obviously this is a guy talented enough for the oz fans and tv execs, and a guy without the clout who has to come to green.
it will be interesting how flores approaches the fight against a smaller man who made his name down at super middleweight (though green did outgrow that weight.)
