understandable.
I hope, from a selfish and boxing point of view, this doesnt ruin Micks chances of fighting JMM and getting the recognition he deserves. At the end of the day, we are only talking about a sport, but I know Mick was on the verge of something great with this fight.

but on the news last night they said that michael wouldnt be coming back for the funeral on saturday in toowoomba as he didnt want it to effect his prep, and that he knew his brother would understand.

The mouth-watering clash between Michael Katsidis and Juan Manuel Marquez is on hold following the death of the former's brother.

Stathi Katsidis, a successful jockey in Australia, was found at home in Brisbane on Tuesday morning following a suspected drugs overdose.

His younger brother had been training for the November 27 fight in Thailand when he was given the tragic news, and immediately left the camp to be with his family.

The WBA and WBO lightweight title fight has not been scrapped but it will be up to Katsidis if and when he wants to re-schedule.
"Our concern is for Michael as a person, rather than boxing," said David Itskowitch, representing Golden Boy Promotions.

"We want him to be OK and I don't know if he can be OK because he just lost his brother.

"Right now our concern is for Michael. Our concern is not for the fight. His well being is what is important."

Katsidis was last seen destroying Kevin Mitchell inside three rounds at Upton Park earlier this year.

That is really odd and supports Anton's story about him facing jail if he comes home.

Yes I did. As far as I know the fight will happen, but atm not on Nov 27.
However, there's always the possibility he might change his mind or be pressured.
Wait & see I guess

I hope it goes ahead. It will work one of two ways. Inspire Mick to his greatest victory or weigh on him too heavily and he will get obliterated.
Good luck Rocky.....

No, that would have happened if his bro was still alive...either way it should be a ball tearer as long as it lasts.
