2010 PAL who is your Picks to win the tournamen
Re: 2010 PAL who is your Picks to win the tournament
How do you mess up 3 weights 132, 141, and. 152? They had Zeddie fighting 132. Other boxers were not even on the bout sheet. They have added Sunday, but how will it work? Zeddie's flight leaves Sunday at 7am. Will we have to pay for flight changes and later get reimbursed?

PAL bouts scratched
By Jerry Briggs - Express-News

The 36th annual Police Athletic League Boxing Championships got off to a rocky start Monday at Municipal Auditorium when 36 bouts were scratched because of an issue with the draw in three weight divisions.
Only nine of the 45 bouts from the original schedule took place.
Bouts were scrapped in the 132-, 141- and 152-pound divisions because some athletes claimed that they had registered but “did not find their names” on the original bout lists, an official said.
As a result of the mixup, the tournament likely will run an extra day, with some bouts scheduled for Sunday morning, local tournament director Danny Zamora said.
The tournament will continue today through Friday with sessions at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and two sessions also are possible on Saturday at the auditorium, Zamora said. He added he is optimistic the bouts on Sunday can take place at the auditorium, but he said he might need to consider alternate sites.

Also, San Antonio Express Daily News boxing beat writer John Whisler has been writing about the PALs:

I still don't understand. If a boxer is fortunate enough to make it to the finals, is the boxer responsible for the additional hotel and flight charges? ![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
Re: 2010 PAL who is your Picks to win the tournamen
the P.A.L Tournamnet is the most disorganized tournamnet in all of USA Boxing, they need to take the P.A.L. back to Oxnard, or back to Virgina Beach because Texas is just not cutting it... The Judgeing sucks, the Refs sucked, the whole shabang was just oout of wack, come on with them messing up on 4 to 5 different weight classes doing a re-draw, they need to get out of TEXAS!!! and they need new coordinaters!!
Re: 2010 PAL who is your Picks to win the tournamen
scoreing system SUCKED!! looks like they have new judges that dont have any experience with the computer scoreing... and no matter how hard you fight they got there faviotes to win!!

One thing about that system is you can clearly pick out a cheating judge unless all five are cheating !! It goes by how many times the button is pushed. There are ways, but you can see it plain as day!!!

Nothing wrong with being confident. Isaac Torres may have had an off night (morning/afternoon or whatever) or an injury. You never know. lets see if he comes back from it strong at the next tournament.

Dennis, seems in TX alot of ppl dont like the Torres crew because of their boasting and smack talk..
All that matters is that a Texan won 123 !!!
The senior open division now knows O'Shanique Foster from the Golden Triangle !!
That's the Beaumont/Orange/Port Arthur area which has produced guys like Chris Henry, Wilford Scypion & Ronnie Shields.
Foster was 1 month past his 17th birthday for the PAL tournament.

Yup! That foster kid is a beast! Love his footwork. @ dennis I'm just having fun with jokezz22! They did all that trash talkin, braging n boasting about a boxer who did not even have the talent to get past the first night! NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
Re: 2010 PAL who is your Picks to win the tournamen
I tend to like my boxers to be a little more respectful and humble. My sons always show great sportsmanship and I'm always proud of the way they handle themselves in the ring
My point is just because someone loses the first day doesn't mean they aren't any good. Sometimes they get a bad draw and face the eventual champ in their first bout of the tournament. Now if a boxer repeatedly loses his or her first bout of a tournament, it might be a sign that they aren't very good or they have a mental block and just choke in tournaments.
