Well done for glossing over his other losses!

The fact that he beat those guys or was highly competitive with them makes it hard to plug Barkley as the worst or luckiest fighter to win a world title.

Leon Spinks has to be the luckiest.

He just managed to be around right at the time that Ali was in the early stages of Parkinson's Syndrome (although noone knew), under trained, under motivated & ageing.

He even managed to bag a shot at the HW title after only SEVEN fights! :o

Jason MAthews didn't excatly set the world on fire.....he was lucky to face a domestically decent but seriously chinny Ryan Rhodes who stupidly decided to hang his chin out against mathews.

He's far from the worst but Ken Norton's the only champion I can think of who never won a World title fight.

Alex Arthur?

He's not the worst or luckiest either..... but I can't recall Arthur winning a title fight.

It has to be Ken Norton.

The WBC gave him the title.

He didn't even have to step foot into the ring.

Aye, won a couple of interim title fights, picked up the vacant belt and then lost it at the first attempt.

Michael Katsidis is another, plenty of interim WBO fights but not a single world title fight outside the losing IBO 'world' title shot to Diaz.

There's been a few more, but forget them at the mo'. Will have a think.
Wasn't Arthur ''given'' the title?

Katsidis is still improving but I think Marquez is the wrong fight for him, especially given the timing.
