meehan would land on alex far too easily. alex uses no defence. he'd be lucky to last 2 rounds. it would take more than one good shot though.

Kali, despite his vintage would still be too fast for Alex and has better defensive skills that counter Alex's surges that need to be more frequent if he would stand to have any chance with Kali.

I would have to agree that Meehan would land shots easily and also tie alex up if it got heated,just to much experience,alex would really have to pull one out to defeat kali,I'd say kali on points.

Meehan would be far too much for Leapai in his prime. That time has passed though, and if the fight came off I think it would be very competitive. I would lean towards Kali.

Well, I agree with THAT, but without having the thread to hand, I'm sure I remember people talking about Meehan being able to IMPROVE if he is more active from now on.

I think you will find there are few if any Australian boxing fans who still think Meehan is a chance for a world title now, or that his best is still to come.

That said, I think he can improve from his performance against Chagaev. He should be a relatively young 40, having not been in many wars, especially not recently.

I think the main point regarding his activity, is that Kali Meehan, since his loss to Rahman (when he was fighting injured) should really have been in the mix of the best 15-20 heavyweights in the world. He should have got the decision over a prime Brewster, and at his best I think he would beat about half the guys currently in the top 15. Unfortunately he just waited for his shot and took "keep busy" fights in the meantime. I think he would have had a good shot against Valuev, but by the time he faced Chagaev he was very rusty and getting old.

I like Meehan and was pulling for him to beat Chagaev, because him against Haye would have been a fun shootout between vulnerable punchers.

i still think haye gets ko'ed by meehan. he has never been hit by a fighter remotely close to meehans power. although haye has obvious speed etc. i think he would be extremely worried of being hit by meehan. lets remember that chagaev should have been the world title holder after fighting valuev. so for meehan to face chagaev after 2 years of inactivity was going to be a massive ask. anybody can objectively agree with that at least. so yes i think people would expect him to be improved after that fight. and against quinn, well it is hard to ko somebody who won't come within 4 metres of u.

look, meehan is clearly no superstar, and is getting on in age, but considering he should have got the decision vs brewster just after brewster ko'ed the current seemingly unbeatable klitscko, meehan has a credible chance against pretty much all of the contenders aside from the klit brothers ( even then i think meehan has as good a chance as anybody else of winning, however unlikely that would be).

i would like to see him have one good 10 rounder before hopefully fighting for one of the titles whether he were to fight a klit or haye. and if he doesn't win then he can at least know he had finally gotten his chance to fight for a belt before hanging up the gloves. or then he can fight leapai and haumono locally for a couple of paydays before retiring.

Where is Solo, the heavyweight scene needs him fighting in this region, and he's just come off a very big win here against Kirby.

It's certainly a lot more interesting with him around.
