European box cup
European box cup
Good to see a return to form for Luke Campbell who won this title at 56kg by defeating top Russian Magomed Kurbanov in the semis and European lightweight champion Dennis Makarov in the final.Success also for Amateur boxings most unlucky boxer Dennis Berinchuk who is the Ukraine number two at 60kg,Lomachenko being the number one.
Re: European box cup
I am surprised that Lomachenko has not gone pro yet. He is the best amateur boxer in the world IMO. They must be paying him good money to stay amateur.mike222 wrote:Good to see a return to form for Luke Campbell who won this title at 56kg by defeating top Russian Magomed Kurbanov in the semis and European lightweight champion Dennis Makarov in the final.Success also for Amateur boxings most unlucky boxer Dennis Berinchuk who is the Ukraine number two at 60kg,Lomachenko being the number one.
Re: European box cup
I think Lomachenko will wait until after the 2012 Olympics before turning pro.He has decided to compete only in selected tournaments,he missed the european championships for example.
At the europeans he worked in the corner for his country and possibly that may be his future as a national coach.
There is little doubt he is the best amateur boxer in the world although the young cuban Yasnier Toledo Lopez is improving all the time and for 2016 there are a lot of talented boxers coming through.
