Haye v Harrison - a farce ready to happen

Post by dalcumly »

I have never been in favour of this fight taking place and now as we're approaching 13 November several respected boxing people are starting to talk the fight up . However almost all of those have a vested interest in the promotion being successful .
I predict , well in advance of the contest , that Haye will win in under 6 minutes with Harrison failing to land a SINGLE punch . The national press will have a field day on 14 November criticising the match up . Harrison was totally outclassed by Sprott who after all is one of the Klitschko's sparring partners . A lucky ( and I mean lucky left hand punch with the inside of the glove ) punch got Harrison this fight. Up until then he was going no where .
If forum members think I'm talking nonsense , have a look at the odds . Haye is 1/8.

I Reckon haye will win in 1st round if he really goes for it
as much as the hype gets you thinking it good to takle a reality check and remember some of the joke performances that harrison has put in.

i expect haye to cath him with good right get him on ropes and unload much like against Enzo
Harrison will be trying to hold and get stopped on his feet.

What, Harrison's schlong up their tukkus?

Cos that's the only explanation I can think of for calling this 'a close one.' Yeah sure, Harrison could win with a hail mary punch, but that's about the only way I see him winning.

Yeah some good points there--Haye will win but the outcome could be one of several- all things considered.

I think Haye should win, no problems, but shocks do happen. I think there is going to be a suprise here too. Im not saying Harrison is going to win, but im taking some of the bookie odds that he will. You get some people in life who are just damn lucky.

He wasnt out classed by sprott at all, he was one armed and at times clearly outboxing sprott even then.

Problems harrison has amongst many is -

If he goes out all guns blazing he'll be open, haye will land and it will be good night

If he fights defensively haye will land at will and it will be good night.

If he curls up in a shell haye will beat him to a pulp.

His only really chance is to box without fear moving well and using his jab to stop haye in his tracks, moving backwards with a great defense and nice uppercuts when haye is coming forward. If harrison takes the fight into the later stages haye could be in trouble with his stamina (if his stamina is still poor which it may well not be).

Harrison has the skills to beat haye he just doesnt have the mentality.

Its like barry Mcguigan said the other night Harrison seems confident now but when he gets in the ring his heart will shrink.

I personally would like him to do himself proud and win the respect of the fans win or loose. Every underdog has their day and he could peak that night, stranger things have happened.

Thats what the fight is being sold on the "what if" factor - what if harrison shows the promise we saw when he won the gold medal, what if harrison has turned into a warrior, and what if big aud lands that left. Chances of it happening arent that far out maybe 1 in 30  .

Eitherway most people are going to be watching it.

Well im a haye fan but ive always had a soft spot for Big Aud i would love to see him do himself proud, and bring the fight of his life, and if thats good enough to actually win then i will be over the moon for the guy.

Absolute dream senario would be to get a classic battle and suddenly inject the heavy weight division with some hype and excitement, leading to a rematch and another benn v eubank style senario - it aint gunna happen but we can but wish.

I am attending the fight and have paid 150 quid for a ticket so would love to see Audley make a match of it but I see it being a carbon copy of the Haye v Maccarinelli fight, with Audley freezing on the night and getting taken out quickly. In fact the 11/4 that some bookmakers have on it being over within 3 rounds is real value. I see Haye coming out like a steam train like he did against Ruiz and overwhelming Audley who won't have the survival instinct that Ruiz had.

I want Audley to win as well. Haye has lost a lot of respect with his constant trash talk, and his repeated failures to meet the best fighters in the division i.e. the Klitsckos. Logic dictates Haye should win, too much power and speed, too much big fight nous, but Audley has the punch to dent Haye's fragile chin. C'mon Audley......

Boylesports are offering 1.4 on each of Haye to beat Audley by TKO/KO or Diss and the same odds for Klitschko against Chisora.

Do a £100 double and get £196 back.

Haye and Adam Booth are clever enough to know they don't want to give Harrison the chance to get in the fight by charging in all guns blazing, they'll have a plan.

I think Haye will want to punish Harrison but look good doing it, so expect him to use good movement to get in and out and he'll try to make Harrison look a mug while also punishing him.

I'm thinking this is going to be a total annihalation, but don't think Haye will be reckless and will mete out a steady beating, that's if Harrison can take his big shots and use his size to smother Haye's work. If not I see it being over very early.

i have to admit i am getting a little carried away with the hype like everyone else, and im actually giving audley a chance. but in reality, with all this talk about haye's chin, it seems like everybodys forgotten the fact that audleys whiskers arent exactly made of granite, and i dont think that hes gonna be in the fight long enough to land with any sort of conviction. hayemaker in 3 rounds

I have waged my own war against those who keep bringing up the "he was losing against Sprott" line but I'm getting bored of it now. I realise I'm fighting a losing battle against people who either haven't watched the fight or are just so anti-Audley that they refuse to accept the evidence of their own eyes.

As for "lucky punch", I always love that one. After all, what are the chances of a boxer - a participant in a sport in which the onus is on landing punches on an opponent - actually throwing a punch on purpose AND landing it? I mean, that's just an astronomically unfeasible scenario. That it actually happened is surely proof of higher powers, because no way could something like that occur naturally.

Yes, all those rounds in which Harrison fought with the effective use of just one arm, refusing to concede what looked an increasingly lost cause, proved if nothing else that he has no balls. Little can illustrate cowardice better than dogged perseverance in a dangerous combat sport.

King Geedorah wrote:A lot of the theory behind Harrison losing in a single rounds centres around the fact that many feel he will shit it come fight night. This is odd. Scared fighters often last longer than people think as they're solely geared towards survival, it can be tricky to take these guys out.
Yep. It's mismatched guys who come out with a kamikaze-like attitude that tend to get stopped quickest. Think of Tyson-McNeeley. What chance did McNeeley have? None, but he left the ring with a modicum of kudos for "having a go", even though it was precisely that strategy which hastened his defeat.

I think Harrison deserves respect for continually coming back after his defeats and despite the widespread criticism he has endured. His voctory over Sprott showed that he really does have a fighting heart and that may well be a performance which he can use to reach even gresater heights against Haye, which he must do if he is to win. Haye has lost my respect, his trash talk in this fight has been distateful in the extreme and the way he has backed out of facing either Klitchenko brother raises questions about his own heart imo.
Audely will go in against Haye knowing he is a huge underdog and I think he can make this work for him, if he can take Haye into the second half of the fight then I really think Audely has a chance to pull off a huge upset.
