Most exciting fighter ever!!??

Post by bluehorizon »

I realize it takes two men to make a great fight but who is the all-time most exciting fighter?

Personally I like the Arturo Gatti of a few years back but I don't know if I'd classify him as the most exciting ever.

Opinions please!!

Gatti is the most exciting of the past 15 years or so followed by Evander Holifield... going back I'd pick Bobby Chacon, Kelvin Seabrooks and Mathew Saad Muhammad as the most exciting fighters I've ever watched followed closely by Ali, RUBEN OLIVARES AND Danny Lopez!.... great days! 8)

I guess this really is influenced by what boxers you grew up watching first.
Mine would be Nigel Benn.
Younger people will no doubt say Naz.

Benn's a good choice. Was he ever in a dull fight? He was capable of being KO'd which made the excitement factor much higher where a fighter like Gatti isn't so easily KO'd

Tommy Hearns deserves a mention, but I suppose it depends what you find exiting in a fighter. :TU:

Saad and Holyfield, because with those guys it was never over til it was over.

Some of the other guys you are mentioning are for the wrong reasons, instead of exciting fights you mean just because they could get wiped out by 1 shot at any moment.

I like Ricardo Mayorga. Anytime you can get whacked by one of the p4p hardest punchers in the division and then let them hit you 2 more free shots and not go down, that shit is just exciting.

I think Rocky Graziano was probably the most exciting fighter of all time.
