Just checked his records and he only fought for the British Title once against Tony Sibson, which he lost on points. All his other title fights were for the European Titles at middleweight Supermiddle weight and light Heavyweight all of which he lost.

He did fight quite a few eliminators for the British Title though, and he won all of those:

I always thought Rod Douglas was good for domestic titles till he ran into Herol on one of his best nights.
