Does anybody know anything about this Rigondeaux chap? seems to be some step in level after only 6 fights, and he's a red hot favourite to win

The guy is amazing. He was by far the best amateur there was, took him a while to turn pro and this is a massive step up, but I am backing him to win.
Re: Rigondeaux V's Cordoba
seen quite a lot of him on fnf on espn ..future world champ, if his arrogance doesnt get the better of him.
great skills bangs hard, leaves himself open sometimes when laying it on...but likes to showboat a bit...

Re: Rigondeaux V's Cordoba
The guy looks about 36 already! He an amazing talent really, hope he can stick around in pro ranks for some time and find a bit of success. To face Cordoba in the just his 7th fight indicates such confidence from the promoters, doesn't seem like he's one of those Cubans that loses their discipline when they flee.
Cordoba should test his chin and take him into the later rounds but I reckon Rigondeaux will be able to befuddle him and stay well away from a war. Excellent co-feature for the Pac fight.

He is managed by a guy named Gary Hyde, from Co. Cork, Ireland
The same guy who brought the 3 cuban lads to Ireland

I always give Mario Kindelan the nod in this argument.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:I think Rigondeaux is one of the best if not the best amatuer boxer in the last 20years...
Like most would have expected, Rigodeaux has been moved along pretty fast by his handlers but I don't think anyone would have expected him to be taking on a 'live' former belt holder in his 7th pro fight.

Kindelan was also special, did he ever box again after the Khan loss or had he reached the age limit?Deno1986 wrote:I always give Mario Kindelan the nod in this argument.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:I think Rigondeaux is one of the best if not the best amatuer boxer in the last 20years...

Taking on Cordoba so early in is pro career is a big ask,but should come thru it,then on to a title next year...

No Tommy, think he retired after Khan bet him in England.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Kindelan was also special, did he ever box again after the Khan loss or had he reached the age limit?Deno1986 wrote:I always give Mario Kindelan the nod in this argument.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:I think Rigondeaux is one of the best if not the best amatuer boxer in the last 20years...
