Results 10-14-10 Texas Cage Fighting

Post by ringsidemike »

Guys, this one is a little bit confusing..

This is an MMA promoter, but for this event called Puro Combate, all the bouts were fought under Muay Thai boxing rules with one single exception.
The Guillermo Martinez vs. Rodrigo Yapez bout was straight professional boxing. Martinez was making his pro debut after 22 amateur boxing bouts.

Nope. TDLR does not oversee amateur boxing. That falls under USA Boxing.
They DO oversee amateur MMA, but this was an entirely pro event.

Here is their website:

Both Martinez and Yapez were in pro debuts. They each had their opponents fall out, so ended up facing each other.
Martinez is trained by Ramon Sosa, who used to work with Nurhan Suliman and Ahmed Kaddour in the pro ranks.
