It appears Steven Wills is fighting a ring-in tonite

Post by AntonS »

The guy that Thai agent Tassanu brought over as Denkamol Kiatchanachai passport name is Sanatanong Paiwan - DOB June 16, 1991, which does not match Boxrec's profile http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
I updated Kiatchanachai's profile & inserted photo when he was matched with Heath Ellis last November, which didn't eventuate & was replaced by Jakkirt Suwuannalirt.
Tassanu claims Boxrec profile is incorrect & the bloke did have his first pro fight at 13 ??
Kiatchanachai's profile & fight record was provided by Thailand Boxing Commission. Unsure where or how I got the photo.

Anybody else on this forum in Airlie Beach last night?

As a boxing fan I was disappointed with the numbers they got to be honest, we estimated around 200-300 in the VIP tables and only perhaps another 300-400 in the crowd, if that - hope this doesn't put them off running shows up in this neck of the woods again. They run out of grog towards the end of the night too :(

See the results aren't up yet - I was slightly intoxicated but whoever Thai Wills fought in the main event got knocked out in the second round - from memory he got knocked down a second time in the 2nd round and didn't show any interest in getting back up.

The Queensland title fight was extremely close, Tim Kanofski getting the decision over William Hadlow (I think this was majority but can't really remember lol). I actually thought Hadlow took it but then again, I wasn't judging :D

Good to see Danny Green there doing the promo thing as well, signing merch and stuff - they actually had him referee an exhibition bout too - can't remember who this was between (just a couple of local blokes I think) - both guys slugging it out for a few minutes until one popped his shoulder unfortunately.

Angelo Hyder and Bob Mirovic also there - thanks for the photo Bob! To everybody else, was gunna ask Bob about retirement but because he's three times the size of me and I was full of piss I thought better of it at the time.

All in all, good night - thanks to the Airlie Beach PCYC and the promoters/sponsors for putting everything together :bag:
