Hey guys, just so you know, this isnt exactly a mundine bashing thread, more of a curiosity thing.
im curious to know how a fight between mundine and wood can be legally sanctioned.
my reasons for asking are as follows
Mundine - Wood
* total fights 43 - 11
* total rounds 342 - 35
* title fights 23 - 0
* "World TitleFights" 11 - 0
* Fights with World Level Fighters(debateable i know) 10/15 - 1/2
so how can a fight like this be sanctioned? im sure if it wasnt part of the contendor and it wasnt mundine it would never happen.
Sanctioning
Re: Sanctioning
Well wood is going ok with some good wins. It isn't hat bad compared to what does get sanctioned. Wood has shown he may just have some ability and I guess we will find out. He beat oganov and kariz so he has arguably earn't the right to fight mundine, who it must be noted is not currently a world title holder and is really only a top domestic fighter.
Plus Mundine hasn't shown in any of his recent fights that he would possess the power to cause wood and serious harm.

i just wonder if it would have been sanctioned if it were say green v oh i dunno, brad pitt or daniel ammann
or geale v mwetupunga, shaick, or katsidis v brett smith, ryan langham, or vic v either of the 2 active bantams?????
as i said, im not here to bash anyone, just a little curious
