There has been a bit of discussion on other threads. Let's put it to a vote.

Bowe had some skills well-designed to deal with Tyson, but ultimately two critical components conspire against him --- Tyson's enormous speed advantage, & Bowe's horrifically pourous defense. Combine the two, & it's Tyson for my money, in about four exciting rounds.

Bowe would have won a great fight. However, people would have said Tyson was not in his prime even if he was.

Interestingly, I think from memory there was a consensus Bowe would win.

Here, Tyson has dominated opinions.

In fairness, I've never seen anything in Bowe which suggests he was intelligent as a fighter, either (we know factually, out of the ring, the guy bordered on retardation).

Well-schooled under Futch, yes (so was Tyson with Rooney, mind), but intelligent as a boxer in his own right? I don't see it.

...But still, no matter how smart he may've wanted to be, Bowe had NO DEFENSE. None.

That's a bad spell against Tyson's speed & power. Golota had height on Tyson. That's about all he had on him.

He is wrong to favour Bowe.
Any way that's just my opinion. So don't make a big deal out of it.

You just need to study the tape, and you will be able to see how Bowe would of been made for Tyson.
Key to victory for Tyson is Speed, ability to duck under the Bowe jab and rip into the body, before his left hook lands upstairs. Rinse and repeat.
When Holyfield lost to Bowe in the 1st fight, he was more or less coming in head 1st. Otherwise who has Bowe beat?
Obviously no one can know who would of won. So I should of said "think" instead... I didn't think.
Not to worry eh?

Well, this forum is filled with people that like boxing and there are some sensible boxing people on here. There are twice the amount that have voted for Tyson, than have voted for Bowe.

Tyson wins.

Tyson always had a harder time with tall guys that I saw and at 6'5 Bowe is certainly a tall guy. That being said, despite the fact that Bowe was tall, he fought on the inside as if he were a much shorter. He was very good at this for a big man, but I think the fact that he favored in-fighting as opposed to properly using his height would be his undoing against a Prime Tyson. However I really don't think either man is knocking the other out here. Knockdowns can be expected though. I'm pretty sure if this fight would've happened. It would've been an absolute barnburner.

He was a better infighter than Tyson. Bowe would eat him up in tight. Of that much I am certain.
