Juanma Lopez v Rafael Marquez

Post by MightyWarrior »

Great fight Sat night, two of the biggest punchers out there, and fantastic boxers too. The young up and coming potential superstar, against the former champ who still packs a massive punch himself. And both vunerable, maybe. Puerto Rico v Mexico. All the makings of a classic.

And..........SKY AREN'T SHOWING IT ??!! What the hell are they thinking ??

No, we get Gavin Rees instead.....talk about an own goal....

Gutted this isn't been shown :witzend: , shame one off the primetime, secondsout type sites don't pick it up.

I wonder why an organisation as big as Top Rank don't do their own online stream service for fans around the world. There's probably a really obvious reason why it doesn't make sense..

I'm looking forward to the Darch/Mares Agbeko/Perez card too.

It can't fail to be a great great fight to watch; two offensive machines with vulnerabilities. If this was the Marquez of three years ago I'd pick him in an instant: great right hand hitter, heart of a lion, excellent jab & left hook. Under-rated footwork, too. Shakiest chin I've seen on a top top level fighter for quite some time, which of course makes me like him even more.

Lopez is a devastating hitter with either hand, & can box patiently when he wants to, breaking a guy down from range. But JuanMa, for all his offensive flair, has yet to ever move his fricking head in a fight & only really opens up once he enters into an exchange (which means of course that he can hit you, but as Bernabe Concepcion found out...). I don't think much of his chin, either.

But he hasn't had the snot beaten out of him by Israel Vazquez three times. He isn't 35.

JML before round seven (but God I'll be rooting for Rafa to plant one on him).

I would assume because they can make far more money selling on the rights to broadcasters in individual countries/regions.

maybe, i wonder how many networks in Europe, Asia etc are picking it up, I'm sure there's boxing fans all over the world who have access to a pc but no way of seeing it on their tv

You'd be surprised at how few are willing to go down that route yet - most definitely 'early adopter' phase, particularly with the potential for piracy.

Both fighters to be knocked down @ 11/2 seems the value bet.
