Whats ur favourite/memorable fight from a personal perspect

I don't necessarilly mean the big fight, or the the well-worn classics.....rather ones your really got into, you can remember like yesterday?

Big name fights, prob the most emotional was Benn-Mclellan, also Benn-Watson, Benn-Eubank......all for obvious reasons.

On a lesser level, Geoff McCreesh showed great toughness and determination winning againts Lueshing. I also remember being live for Gary Lockett - Chris Nembhard. Gary was abjected to some serious abuse from Chris's fans - but he shut their mouth quick with a great KO.

I remember the Tomas Molinares-MArlon Starling fight.....couldn't imagine Starling would ever be that gone. Same Bill I listened to lloyd Honeyghan-Yung Kil Chun on Radio....I can never remember all asiatic/mexican fighters names, but will never forget Yung kil chung.....

Rosi-Curry was a weird one. i watched it on some late ITV or BBC programme. I remember the Italian women in the crowd screaming in pleasure as Rosi (their man) getting knokced down....very odd.

Mathew Hilton - Robert Hines. Hilton was so tough but after not being able to get Hines out, ran out of gas, but took his beating with a smile on his face.

Bigger fight - Jorge Castro vs John David Jackson.......less believable than Rocky.

One that sticks in my mind is watching the delayed showing of larry holmes vs micheal spinks 1 whan larry was trying to equal marcianos unbeaten run,of course he lost and that upset me for weeks after and then there was tyson vs douglas, i just could not believe what was happening

the fight that sticks in my head is calzaghe vs lacy. its the fight that got me into boxing. the way calzaghe schooled lacy and the skill he showed was incredible.

McGuigan vs Pedroza by miles for me.
Lewis doing Ruddock is such spectacular fashion had a huge impact.
Benn versus Watson was absolutely captivating, although I was a Benn fan, while watching Collins fight like a man possessed against Eubank was really memorable.
Calzaghe's destruction of Mark Delaney really impressed me at the time and his coming of age in beating Eubank was great to watch as well.
In more recent times Moore vs Macklin just blew me away while being at Froch vs Pascal was something special as well.

Robin Reid v Vincenzo Nardiello

Nardiello wasn't a particularly good champion but Reid was totally untested as a professional and hadn't even fought for a domestic title and also this was the first time he'd been involved in a bout scheduled for more than 8 rounds so for him to go over to Italy against the odds and bring the belt back was pretty special.

Glenn Catley's stoppage wins on the road against Lucas and Beyer rank pretty close as well.

Hunter v Pickering. Had £800 on Hunter at 5/2. Atmosphere was amazing that night. Marmite-stained my doggers in rounds one and two with those knockdowns but the way Mick dug in after that was quite exceptional. Terrific battle... and was drunk for weeks afterwards.

As did Hagler-Mugabi, almost as good as the Hearns fight
Barkley-Hearns, phenomenal comeback KO from the Blade
Benn-Barkley, total war between two warriors
Benn-McClellan, the intensity cant be surpassed, tragic outcome
Barrera-Hamed, remember coming in steaming, waiting for ages for Naz to enter the ring like a clown, then getting served up by Barrera
Lewis-Tyson, my most eagerly awaited fight, didnt live up to expectations as only the ghost of Tyson showed up
Williams-Tyson, shocking result even against that version of Tyson
Hatton-Tszyu, brilliant win for Ricky, shame he didnt keep the momentum going for longer
Mayweather-Hatton, gutted about this one, although not entirely unexpected.

joe calzaghe vs roy jones......this was the fight that turned me from casual boxing fan to hardcore boxing fan...the old man made me stay up until the early hours of the morning for this telling me storys of ali's prime and ever since then i have watched every big fight..

My Favourite fight ever from a personal standpoint; is the 1st fight I ever attended live.

Lennox Lewis vs Frank Bruno at the old Arms Park Stadium, Cardiff on 1st October 1993.

The fight is my favourite for many reason.

Historically, it was seeing in the flesh the 1st British Heavyweight in 100 years defending a World title, that many Brits had challenged for and failed, on home soil.

The 1st ever Heavyweight title fight under Queenbury rules between two Brit's.

The fight itself was huge for me, the build-up, the fact it was taking place in Wales and between two of my all-time favourite fighters.

The contest before approx 30,000 in the open air of Cardiff was a battle of pride and very hard jabs. Lewis was his usual relaxed self and took time to get into the fight while Frank was extremely focused and determined.

It was more than a fight - it was two Heavyweights battling for bragging rights on home turf. The fans and public's favourite boxer challenging, once again, for the title against the young pretender with a transatlantic accent but born in London.

That night was the best I have ever seen Bruno fight and he led the fight going into the 7th - the fateful 7th. The left hook that caught the onrushing Bruno flush could have decapitated any Heavyweight. The hook signaled the end of Bruno's challenge and a brutal, almost painful to watch, onslaught of blows reigned in from Lennox.

40+ people round to watch Hatton vs Tszyu for a BBQ, tons of beer, turntables, you name it. We had a couple of TV's set up and most neighbours round when they'd come home from the pub.

Party ended at about 5.45am with about 10 still left with beers on table when sun came up.

I wasn't one them, i'd passed out around half hour earlier.

I had money on Hunter as well (only about £150 though) and I was only crapping myself when he got knocked down in the first two rounds!

I had just started to get really interested in boxing and reading the Boxing News I was astounded at how many great fighters there were at the lower weights that were not well known. In 1987 Julio Cesar Chavez was still a junior lightweight with 9 defences of his belt. I had never heard of him before. He moved up a weight to box Edwin Rosario; the preview in Boxing News was brilliant. The fight was shown a week later on World of Sport; Chavez was magnificent and Rosario very brave. It was boxing at its very best and I was really hooked. That fight got me interested in the less well known fighters and the classic fights.
