For me the only question mark over Flores is his lack of top-level opposition, and whether his chin has been tested. He is rightly the underdog, but I think this is as close to 50:50 as it gets. Flores is a big, natural cruiserweight and looks in fantastic shape. No result in this fight could surprise me.
Remember all those people who said Jones would be too good for Green?

I wasn't one of them, but I did favour Jones for that fight after reading too much into his demolition of Lacy. As I said, I think this is a very even matchup and we will finally know exactly how good Flores is, and how good a cruiserweight Green is.

Me and mate who went over to the Jones bout collected good money on a gReen vicotry. At the current odds its not really worth backing Greeny with the bookies.....unless you pick a first round KO or something similar.

I appreciate Siaca, Briggs and others werent great opponents, but his demolishin of Jones and one sided win over drews shows he can get insiden and beat boxers. Flores will have size but I know he would never have fought in an arena and atmosphere such as Challenge when the guys walk out. I am predicting a war and although BJ says he will dominate he knows he is in for the fight of his life. Go Greeny....now I'm getting excited. Anyone flying over for it ??
He has fought on a few Roy Jones Jr cards so I think he certainly has exposure to the big fight atmosphere. I also believe him when he says he isn't here for a payday!
I know he has been on a few Jones cards but as an undercard fighter when most people are still at the bars or filing into the arena, not in a main event at Challenge Stadium. He definately isnt here for a pay day.He wants the win. I had a chance to talk to him at an open training session. He spoke very well, was very complimentary of Danny and Green Machine Promotions but there was no doubt at the end of our chat that I knew he was coming here to win and he had the belief he could do it.

Which cruiserweights did Green or Dominguez beat to fight for the vacant IBO world title? Seriously, IBO rankings are great, but their titles are fairly meaningless.

That ol chestnut hey :geek2: Mate most of us now have come to the conclusion, it's not the belt that makes the champ, and IMO Green is among the 4 best cruisers/Dannyweight going around, it's just a means to get people in the ring who still believe it's a world title. BJ Flores is without a shadow of a doubt top 10 Cruiser, if you haven't heard of him i find that funny.....not ha ha, but sad.

He's as Marlin has stated a ESPN analyst, and i notice they give that job to anyone :witzend: he has been touted by many people in the know around the world to be a very decent prospect. He's beat the ding a ling man when in career best form, who to my surprise is fighting Alex Leapai next month. Theres a few up and comers that he beat, we all start somewhere and for me, I've got this feeling it's now for BJ, but it wont come easy.

Don't let the last fight fool ya, Green is here to see how far he can go, as can be said for BJ.

OK I just looked him up and found the following info

Last 3 opponents:

Last bloke he fought in AUGUST 2009 had lost 3 of his last 4 fights

Second last bloke he fought had lost 4 of his last 6 fights

Bloke before that had lost his previous fight

The question needs to be asked...w...t...f ????

undefeated US fighter who was held back badly by his previous management.Vry good amatuer career. No one else wanted to fight so Green has offered him a shot. I didnt hear all this crap about "who has he beaten" when RJJ came out here. RJJ had beaten a blown up Lacey and looked nothing but average and stil lwent in a heavy favourite. The guys who the other champs have defended against lately (in the cruiser division) arent exactly household names. I can say one thing, if Danny beats BJ he deserves the No. 1 ranking in the division. BJ is known throughout the division. If he is not ranked it is because of piss poor management, not because of talent or lack there of.

Good post, but I disagree that a win over Flores makes him #1 cruiserweight. For me he needs to beat Huck or Cunningham to earn that spot.

Flores is not ranked on BoxRec because of inactivity, but he was ranked #8 at year-end 2008, and #5 at year-end 2009 (one place behind Green). In February this year he was ranked #4 by the WBO, #6 by the WBA, #4 by the IBO, #10 by the WBC and #8 by the IBF.

His CW resume would still not match that of Huck, Cunningham, or even Wlod or Lebedev. It would be a stretch to say he deserved the number one spot. The guys I mentioned have all defeated fighters higher ranked the Flores, and altogether clearly have been in with better opposition at CW. Flores is not really regarded higher than Afolabi, Godfrey, Fragomeni, Ross, Arslan, Alexeev, Ismailov, etc....all fighters who have been defeated recently, all of whom have probably done just as much or more than Flores.

Flores is still a good opponent though, and Green should solidify a high ranking with a win.

Forget Huck, he needs to beat Cunningham to be #1, but B.J.Flores at the cruiser limit is definitely a step in the right direction.

He's been brought for one reason and one reason only TO LOSE, they scoured the world to find a easy fight that might look credible , But i hope he forgets the script and knocks Green the fack out

Nope. How many here knew anything about him before being announced as Green's opponent? Very few I reckon
Hi Bollox,

Read and weep, two months before it was announced

Bingo. I keep saying that it is realistically the best fight he could bring to Australia.

Lets just hope he doesn't go back to Cameron afterwards...
