Exactly right. Who, fromthe last 10 years has boxed continually at the level Carl has - Pascal, Taylor, Dirrel, Kessler and now Abraham - that is relentless prizefighting (no Pudwills, Jimenez's or Ahsira's in between good defences).

Things are quiet with Amir Khan. The WBA light-welterweight champion from Bolton is working hard in Los Angeles as he prepares for his crunch defence against Argentina's Marcos Maidana, the mandatory challenger. Based in the States and trained by Freddie Roach, Khan faces his first true puncher since Colombia's Breidis Prescott annihilated him in 54 seconds in Manchester in September 2008, dropping him twice.
Khan came back well, beating Marco Antonio Barrera at lightweight before moving up to light-welterweight last year and winning the WBA crown with a sharp display of boxing against solid Ukrainian Andreas Kotelnik, whom he unanimously outpointed. This is interesting because Kotelnik had outscored Maidana a fight earlier. It was close, a split decision for Kotelnik, but it tells you that Khan has the edge going into their December 11 match in Las Vegas.
Nevertheless, Maidana can punch, he can really punch. His record of 29-1 (27), and Kotelnik is the only man to beat him, tells you that. Khan whacks a bit himself and he is much the better boxer of the two, much the quicker, but he looked shockingly vulnerable in the Prescott fight, the only man to beat him in turn. Khan crumbled to the canvas as soon as Prescott tagged him, and while he showed bravery to beat the count, one knew that he was never going to survive.
Since then, Khan has been steered away from anyone remotely resembling a puncher but Maidana secured his mandatory status some time ago and could not be avoided forever, although Roach was giving it a damn good try. To remind you, Khan looked shockingly vulnerable against Prescott, who has done nothing since. If Khan gets past Maidana without any wobbles and with the win, we will view Prescott as older boxing fans view George Chuvalo against Jerry Quarry.

Froch is - and has been for sometime - the best value British figher operating at world level.

Froch is an awesome fighter and seems like a great guy. In my opinion, he has been promoted very poorly indeed, especially since he won the WBC title in a thriller against Pascal who has gone on to become a bigger star.

For a fighter of Carl's stature to have to put up with being on a random internet channel whilst fighting the very best the division have to offer fight after fight is an absolute disgrace when you see guys like Haye and Khan getting mega publicity for fighting average guys. This fight with Abraham should be on Sky Box Office, as should his previous 3 fights. Instead he is left on Primetime. Surely Mick Hennessy is to blame for this.

Adam Smith is very interested in bringing Carl to Sky, but the fact remains that the most competitive and exciting world level British fighter in years has gone largely unnoticed through the Primetime deal. Carl should be a far bigger name than he is in this country, but even if he does go to Sky in the near future you have to wonder whether his peak years have passed. Hopefully not, I like the fella and he deserves more recognition.

I watched the latest fight camp 360 earlier, carnt wait for the fight on the 27th now. The battle between froch and Abrahams promoter at the press conference is quality

It's a disgrace that Froch hasn't taken off in this country.

I can't figure out why he isn't a household name. It must be his promoter.

He is intelligent, has character, speaks his mind, takes on anyone and is currently going through a murderers row if opponents. Quality wise, the fighters he has faced makes a mockery of all recent British fighters opponents.

Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham and if everything works out well for him(massive long shot given the standard of opposition) then onto Ward and Abraham again, then maybe Bute or off to Canada for the Pascal rematch!!! Seriously, even as a fan of fighters gunning for glory even I would be calling for him to have a Calzaghe style home banker after that little lot!
Credit to the sport. In a weird way I hope he is glad he is all about the substance when it comes to his career. In boxing circles he is held in higher regard than his British counterparts, I'm sure he knows this.
