Retirement of boxers and the rankings

There does not seem to be a uniform way that BoxRec handles retirement.

For example, John Ruiz announced his retirement and was promptly removed from the rankings.

Leo Dorin retired after the Gatti fight and is still listed 9 months later.

Corrie Sanders retired again after getting injured but is still ranked

Michael Moorer retired and is gone from the rankings

Why the discrepancy?

ROBERT HAY & PAUL WATSON MANAGED BY TOMMY GILMOUR ARE STILL INTHE DATABASE BUT RETIRED MANY YEARS AGO.
