For people who don't know there was a welderweight / light middle weight name Richard Starkey he was good fighter winnning many fights in non-sanctions matches in the 70's
When he was in his late 20's or early 30's he lost a fight in the 1980 Ft Worth,Tx Star Telegram Golden Glove Tournment to Duke Pasteridge was his last fight I think. This guy would club fight for free and he never lost a fight till that night. Why no one has ever talked about him is a mystery. He spared with several big names like Don Curry. I talk with him a few times when he was a club fighter he was also a martial arts black belt that work out at Pat Burleson in ft worth. I knew he moved to Taxes from either South Carolina or North Carolina in 1977 thats what he told me can't remember the state. The last time i saw him was at the 1980 Star Telegram G.G.T.
If you remember this fighter post what you know please he was a real fighter who would fight anyone I do think. If you like email me kenwells6 at gmail dot com
