Colin Mcneil VS Gary Young

was announced last nite at an amature show in scotland,, anyone know much about these two fighters? I have seen them both many a times and think its a bad fight for gary at this time,

its for the scottish welterweight title,

I Dont think colin is past it at all, he so so fit and very young for his age, and i think its bad for gary and colin both shud keep away from each other, I think Colin would beat him and will beat him ,gary better get in good shape as its a ten rounder and hes came in looking bad in recent fights. With someone of Colins amture experiance ( 5 times scottish champion, 5 golds at internationals, commenwealth medals) its gonna be a hard one,

Oh rite fine. I thought you might of been thinking McNeil was too easy, because his record as a pro isn't hugely brilliant. But agree with you this could be a potential tricky one for Young. Alledgedly & co I'm sure are planning a nice little pts win for Young with a title and an unbeaten opponent. But McNeil could spring a surprise, and Young did look out of shape last time round.

You didn't hear when it's happening do you?

I DONT THINK BIGPED HAS BEEN TO ANY COLINS CONTESTS AS HE WOULDNT MAKE A STUPID COMENT ABOUT HIM BEING TO MUCH FOR GARY YOUNG AS HE STILL BOXES AS AMATEUR AND HAS NOT BOXED ANY BODY IN THE TOP 150 AND HE BEEN IN WARS IN THOSE CONTESTS
WHERE AS GARY YOUNG HAS COMPETED AT A HIGHER LEVEL AND TO BRING UP HIS AMATEUR BOUT IT WAS GARY FIRST SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP WERE GARY YOUNG WAS 17 GARY BOXED FOUR BOUTS TO REACH THE FINALS
WHERE AS COLIN WAS GIVEN BYES OR WALK OVERS BUT I TAKE NOTHING AWAY FROM COLIN HE WAS A VERY GOOD AMATEUR BUT THIS IS A LOT DIFFERENT BUT ONLY TIME WILL TELL IF A GOOD MOVE OR BAD

What you on about?? i have seen gary and colin fight many times, gary has not been fighting anyone of a higer level, anyone will tell you he hasnt fought anyone who can fight back yet, and also Colin was the much more succesful amature, just think he will have to much for gary, altough i do rate gary and think hes a great guy.

so bigped thinks colin boxed at a higher level than gary young. The highest rank opponent colin has boxed was 388 , were as gary young has boxed and beaten the current Russian 140 pound champion who was rated
at the time 84 in the world GaryYoung was rated 225 .Every time gary young has boxed its been someone of a higher ranking than himself except leroy williamson.
My point being he has boxed profesional at a higher level and i would
loved to be related to gary young, its not personal its only my opinion
hence the reason i joined the forum because its a sport i like to follow.

The russian champ is crap and past it,, gary actually struggled(due to bad conditioning) against him in last few rounds, but it was a good learning fight for him at this time. i like gary and colin, im not saying colin has fought a better level, they have both fought crap so for and of same level np matter what these rankings say,, so what if someone is 380 and other 200, they are both crap at end of day and dont come to win, this is will be the first time either have fought someone who really wants to fight back and win this, and i think colin might just have the edge over ten rounds due to his better experiance due the higher level he was fighting at inernational level and due to his much more superior fitness and conditioning.

this is just me opinion, they are both scots and i wish them both the best of luck, ill be there 10th july and cant wait..

does anyone else have an opnion on this?? maybe non scottish fans wont have heard of colin,
