Froch on Amir Show
Froch on Amir Show
Anyone think that was interesting as it was a warran show. Do you think Warran is looking at hyping it for a couple of fights down the line.
I thought he aquitted himslef well. My housemate who isn't into boxing recond he sounded hard with his "I'll Smoke his Boots" comment.

Everyone seems that they would be delighted at the prospect of this fight. I am not, Froch hasn't done enough to warrant a shot yet.
I think if Froch beat a Reid or Magee first then we can seriously talk Froch vs Calzaghe.
If the fight happens now, I won't be too happy on paper Froch isn't much better than some of Calzaghe's opponents, Froch is behind Magee in most peoples British rankings.

I would aggree in that I would like to see carl froch prove he is a credible opponent and get some more top level opponents under his belt befor he takes on Calzageh I was just cureouse to see what everyone thought of his appearance.
Froch fights Barny next on 9th July, then I immagen he will be back in the states a couple of months later. If he keeps that up cetus paribus I can see him going for a European title at the end of the year. It wouldn't supprise me if Warren is trying to keep a needle between the two till after that and after calzageh has fought Lacy if he is going to. This is all conjecture but interesting non the less.

The Pores Victory added to his credibility but I would like to see him challenge for european honners befor he challenges for world honners if nothing else than because I think that root is good for boxing.
What is going on with the european middle title am I right in saying Vitali Tsypko faces Brian Maggee for the vacant title in July. If that is true what has Tsypko done in 15 fights that froch hasn't done in 15 to Urn the shot.

I like Froch's attitude, at least he wants the big fights, although he has done nothing to warrant a shot at a World Title (if thats what you can call the WBO) he certainly isn't any worse than some of Calzaghe's previous "contenders". I would like to see Froch fight the winner of Magee-Tsypko presuming of course Froch gets by Matthew Barney, which i suspect he will.
Your joking aren't you mate, Calzaghe has unfinished business first...Calzaghe-Pudwill II anyone?Wrists wrote:Basically Froch is a fornicating prick!!
Prances around like he is the bollox - Joe, do us a favour once you beat Lacy give this guy a hot and put the fornicator away inside three rounds and break the twats big nose while your at it

Well he pisses me off "I am the best pound for pound sportsman in the uk today"
Hmm - Shearer, McArthur, Rooney, O'Sulliva etc etc
The big difference between this prick and Naz is that Naz was funny and basically he was bound to back it up.
This tithead thinks he is the bolloz cos he beats Hague inside a round and some guy in the states who no-one has heard of
Calzaghe - not beaten in 15 years, 10+ defences has beaten Reid, Eubank, Mitchell, Sheika, Brewer hmm i know who my money is on
And no - joe did not look old against Veit
Later
Wrists - please joe spark this wanker out

Well i thought he did look on the slide, Calzaghe looked wild, sloppy and slapped away all night, he is prime for the taking by anyone half decent, which is convenient because he won't fight anyone half decent. I am not a huge Froch fan but he obviously wants the big fights and in this world of alphabet titles and padded records that cannot be ignored.
fair play steve
who beats calzaghe - i think only tarver (styles make fights) has a shot
Johnson does nothing outstanding and the super middles are no where near good enough
listen - froch is a tit plain and simple
if he beats a magee or a reid or a brewer then maybe and maybe the guy gets my respect
hopefully joe knocks him into retirement

Froch is a great prospect, but he's got no business calling out Joe Calzaghe at this stage. As pointed out, maybe after a few Brewers or Beyers or Reids have been beaten then he can starting calling. I seem to remember a fella called Toks Owoh doing something similar to Joe a few years back, before he ran into a then-journeyman and alleged soft-touch called Glencoffe Johnson.
Look mate i have nothing against Calzaghe, the only thing that pisses me off is the way he preaches about being the reigning champion at Super Middle and having no challenges and then dismisses veritable opponents like Mikkel Kessler as "Not having fought anyone". Calzaghe has a ridiculously high opinion of himself...Roy Jones wont fight me, Hopkins is scared of me etc etc He is only fooling himself, as soon as he gets a big fight with Glen Johnson he cries off injured.
Comments like "Kabary Salem is a good fighter and deserves his shot at the title" are what makes me dislike Calzaghe. He hasn't even cleaned up the division he is supposed to be dominating and is always trying to pull the wool over fans eyes. Don't give me this "I want a big fight" shit...if he really did he would have got one, get over to America and fight a name for fornicate sakes, get yourself exposure on a big fight undercard!! Don't sit at home KO'ing bums and expecting Hopkins, Tarver and Roy Jones to come knocking cause it aint gonna happen! Kessler, Haussler, Markussen, Larsen, Beyer, Green, Mundine, Lacy, Reid are all Super Middles and who does he end up with? Mkrtchian, Pudwill and Salem...enough said.

Dam right you have to be going some to have held any of the big 5 championships since 1997 and never have had a "Carrear defining fight". His competition of late has been laughable since 2001 he has fought:
Mario Veit that was a hard challenge
Will McIntyre
Charles Brewer
Miguel Angel Jimenez
Tocker Pudwill
Byron Mitchell who was passed his best and comming off a defete.
Mger Mkrtchian the less said about that the better
Kabary Salem Oh hang on stop the press why was I critisising him he was comming off a powerfull loss to Mario Veit
and if that roll of Honner weren't enough he fought
Mario Veit again

Good Websight too.

I think there rankings are less dictated by promoters than the WBOs.

They are great rankings, shame though they never adhere to them.josh fg wrote:Good Websight too.

Chris Barnett was the most deserving world title challenger I have ever seen.
