fair enough really.

it's not like he suddenly decided to fight all cagey and cautious is it...he's fought like that his entire career and got 27 wins.

i paid for it and altho i fell a little robbed at the end of the day it was exactly unexpected.

fair fucks to him

Nice and honest.... shame no confirmation of retirement.

and I don't mean that in a "haha -kick him while he is down" sense - more in the "how many more times does it need to show he is not cut out for it" sense.

Out of all of his statements - the one that sticks out for me was after the Rogan fight where he starts saying "its clicking now", "I'm getting there". Hang on? Who was the novice. If the story is true Rogan first lace the gloves on at 28 seeing Audley in the Olympics.

It shouldn't be clicking after a 8 year pro career. It shouldn't be clicking after a stellar amateur career. It should have clicked.... along time before that.

How did he expect to take over in the second half of the fight without throwing a punch? Did he think Haye was going to get tired of looking at him.

Fair play, hope he doesn't give in to revisionism in the future.

One thing that did irk, the comment about fulfilling his destiny - I hope he gets over this destiny thing as he needs to realise he is waaaaaaay short of world title calibre :witzend:

Pretty much. It seems Harrison was thinking Haye would expend nervous energy and also hit Harrison's guard. Bizarre game plan.

In truth, I think Audley shat himself like I said he would.

Pretty much, he's all talk he looked terrified before the first bell rang, he just isn't mentally strong enough to be a proffesional fighter IMO. He should do a Pizza Hut advert and then knock it all on the head.

audley is a great personality & spokesperson that is the only aspect i like of him.

as for mentally prepared, he may of been until 24hrs before the fight but his pupil's coming into the ring was shot with fear @ the final presser you could see how heavy he was breathing as his jacket was bobbing up & down.

he never got going  he never get's going :!: he embarrases his coaches :!:

why cant he just say i captured a great gold for the country at sydney & for all the adjulation i recieved i wanted to go another step further & repay the great bumholes of britain, unfortunately time was never on my side as i fell many times in the ams before becoming the king of the castle at a ripe age, this time i will not be getting back on the bike as my next birthday is my 40th & despite not being a quitter ive been taught a lesson from dave & im greatfull.

thanks for the boo's

Classy statement from Audley.

I never thought he had that much class, but fair play to him.

It's just a shame he didn't mention retirement.

The tatics were spot on....
Just throw a few nervous 'dont hit me jabs' and threaten to let the left hand go, like you have an anti-tank misile.
This will keep a world class fighter and muderous puncher like David Haye off you for at least six rounds, and if Haye does have the audacity to let shots go, just back straight up and seek refuge on the ropes.
Then round 7, bingo haye is blowing out of his arse and time to start snapping the jab, backing him up and commiting on the left hand.
Where did it all go wrong?

LOL!

I had the best belly laugh of all-time today whilst listening to Talksport Radio this afternoon.

A caller phoned to say that he we shouldn't be too harsh on Harrison's negative tactics because Audley was trying to do what Muhammad Ali did against Foreman by letting Haye burn himself out & come on in the later rounds & take him out. :o

This caller was deadly serious & I'm still struggling to contain myself over 4 hours later.

The caller conveniently forgot the slightly important fact that Ali was actually HITTING Foreman back whilst he was lolling around on the ropes.

Classy statement from Audley. And shame on anyone kicking a man when he's down, that sort of behaviour is classless & unacceptable. Except when it's targeted at Amir Khan.

I thought Audley had a chance. Lennox Lewis thought he had a chance, and he knows almost as much about boxing as I do. All he had to do was come out & let his hands go and something might happen. At very least I thought he would make a scrap of it. But when the punches started raining in we all knew it was over, hence why seconds before he hit the floor I lept clean out of his bandwagon & directly into the bandwagon of Marcos Maidana. F'cking close one though, I'll tell you.

ALL EYES TO DECEMBER 11TH NOW.

Do you REALLY believe Lewis thought Harrison had a chance? What were they going to say? "Oh no, Audley has got no chance, I wouldn't beit on him!"

I said from the Day the fight was announced, Harrison is not on Haye's level. Harrison is NOT world class! Standard

Lewis was working for Sky. He respected that. If he had turned PPV sales away from them, they wouldn't want him on again.

Exactly. That was what was so maddening about it. Sure, the idea of taking Haye into the later rounds is sound on paper (although pre-fight talk of KOing Haye in two contradict that this was the plan), to literally not hit your opponent once in two rounds is basically giving him a free pass to do whatever he wants. Even if the plan wasn't to try to beat Haye early, how was he ever going to gain Haye's respect - i.e. make him think twice about attacking - without even punching the bloke?

I don't believe there was ever any bad blood it was pure panto to build up a poor pay per view fight.

Classy. It seems David knocked some sense into him. I would not like to see him beat up by prospects. Maybe fight Sprott once more as a support for a big PPV. Bit like Chis/Sex on Mag 7 card.

As his head now seems clear, does he get to try again? :DD

I never fell for it.

I never wavered in my criticism of a potentially poor matchup; I refused to go & watch it, even though it was in my home city & I categorically refused to pay £14.99 PPV to watch a joke fight, especially as Sky were showing the best fighter in the world just a few hours later on a standard Sky Sports channel.

I sort of feel like Paul The Octopus (at least, when he was alive :oo ).
