Knowing the route FW normally goes down with his damaged fighters who need building back up, Kev will end up coming back against a complete plum.

Do you know it took me fully thirty seconds to stop thinking "Why would the boxing writer from the Grauniad be getting back in the ring" before I remembered. D'oh!

European route for Mitchell? I'm assuming Murray would be vacating if the Rios fight comes off? Mezaache, perhaps?

I can only see it being a VERY soft-touch fight.

Probably an European Journeyman type.

Someone like Matt Zegan would be a good fight. An opponent with a decent record but is not going to pose too much of a threat. It could be for the Poles WBO European Lightweight title.

No, please, the LAST thing we need is WBO versions of European titles etc...

Too much of that already!

Aren't the International/Inter-continental titles meant to be the alphabet bodies' version of a European regional title?

Those are bad enough, but a WBO European title is a very lowly belt.

Not really- they are contested Worldwide, and fighters come from anywhere. They are, at least nominally, the "second tier" of World belts.

This WBO European Champion business seems like a "rival" title to the EBU one.

The alphabet bodies have regional titles for other continents, but generally don't for Europe.

The International/Inter-Continental titles are mostly fought for by European fighters, but they can be fought for by any fighter from around the World.

Of course, but Khan fought Oisin Fagan after Prescott blasted him out of there. Expect a similar sort of opponent for Mitchell.

Looking forward to having Kev back on the scene :box:

I remember that well, infact he was actually at the Excel that night. Cooky was supposed to have fought Stephen Foster for the WBO Superfeatherweight title. - Same night as Audley lost to Rogan
