Got to love the straight talking from Vitali and despite what he said about Vlad, I suspect he (and Haye) knows he represents the sterner test.
In the wake of the Harrison fiasco, Haye's got to take this or lose all credibility... and I say that as a fan.

Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
Haye's next fight has to be the WBA mandatory. Or he'd have to dump the belt, which he won't do.

I hope this is done & dusted soon, otherwise Audley Harrison will come up with some ailment or injury to excuse his inept showing & then start demanding a rematch.
Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
If they are genuinely offering a 50-50 fight it is almost too good to be true, Haye doesn´t deserve terms like this, he would look terrible now if he turns down the offer
Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
what they say in public and what they do behind closed doors seems to differ though.
Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
thats what haye has been telling us for some time.G0mez wrote:what they say in public and what they do behind closed doors seems to differ though.
it's all very well for vitali to say this but will he stick to these terms around the negotiating table.
i hope he is true to his word then haye will have no option but to take the fight and we'll get to see the only heavyweight contest really worth watching
Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
This comes down to simple Maths.
A) Klit + usual no hope opponent (Chambers, Sosnowski, Peter) = Standard fee from Germany as per the fixed contract with free to air RTL + Little or nothing from TV companies around the world whose audiences aren't interested
B) Haye + Audley + Ladles of hype = Estimated £10m in PPV in UK alone + TV income around the world (I don't know where in the world this went out)
A/2 = Peanuts
B/2 = A lot more
A+B-Audley-Sosnowski)/2 = Huge money for all.
This weekend proves that Haye brings a lot more money to the table than the Klits do. The brothers are pretty hamstrung by their domestic TV deal so a fight with Haye and the lucrative UK market that he brings and isn't there for any other fight makes financial sense. With this in mind, should Haye really take the thin end of a deal as offered by the Klits - Haye gets 50% of a paltry German deal while Wlad gets 50% of the mega money that Haye has now proved that he can generate in the UK?

Can't Haye get away with some "Super Champion" title if he unifies, thus leaving Chagaev to fight for the "Regular" title?

Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
Haye should snap this up (if it is the real offer) and fight him at the 02 arenaVitali Klitschko added he would offer Haye a 50-50 deal and is prepared to fight him anywhere in the world.
Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
If Vitali is claiming its a 50/50 offer, and Haye says it isn't, why would Haye not just release a photocopy of the proposed contract?
Or have the management record the phonecalls?
Seems pretty easy for Haye to prove if he's telling the truth...

Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
Khan managed to avoid having to face Maidana for quite some time. Wlad still hasn't fought Povetkin (although that's a different story) but they've both hung on to their belts while facing other opponents so I'm sure Chagaev can take a bit of step aside money and something can be worked out with the WBA?
How's this for a list of fights to save the heavyweight division (after Wladamir KO's Chisora, which is a given)?
Wladamir fights Adamek
Vitali fights Haye
Povetkin fights Chagaev
If Wlad beats Adamek, Vitali beats Haye, Povetkin beats Chagaev (most likely outcomes) Vitali can retire with a great final scalp (say what you like about Haye he's a legit threat and the best opponent out there- a career defining win for Vitali to bow out on), setting up Wlad-Povetkin, which everyone has waited for forever, and also sets up Haye-Adamek, which is almost guaranteed to be a great fight: two aggressive fighters of similar size and, in this situation, both hungry, coming off losses and desperate to re-establish themselves. (Chagaev can go and search for a fight with Holyfield or a rematch with Valuev in Germany or something)
If somehow Haye manages to beat Vitali (a big IF, but I don't know- Haye's sold himself short of late with his opponents but he still does look the business and I think he's a real live underdog) and Wlad beats Adamek (I really can't see Adamek doing well here at all to be honest) then you have a HUGE fight in Haye-Wlad. An amazing event. They'll be able to sell the sh*t out of that one. Vitali then takes on the winner of Chagaev-Povetkin, while Adamek takes on the loser. Or Valuev suddenly makes a reappearance and Vitali gets his fight with him, while the winner of Chagaev-Povetkin (let's face it... It's Povetkin isn't it?) faces Adamek: another great fight. Even Adamek-Valuev would be kind of interesting.
If Haye and Adamek both come through the bros, wow. That's an exciting fight. Those two to unify the titles? Great. It wouldn't sell as well as Haye-klitschko for the four belt unification extravaganza, but it would be a better fight and we all know it.
But rematch clauses, mandatories etc and just all round fat ego related politics would screw all of this up, wouldn't it? I know, I basically live in a dream world.

Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
I reckon Vitali wants first crack, because he's the nearest to retirement. He can't want to carry on much longer. A win over Haye goes a long way to legitimising his reign. In the absence of beating up his own little brother, who else is there.
Vitali is never going to be ranked as one of the greatest heavyweight champs, his reign was split, and the level of competition was dire. However, if he did manage to crush Haye convincingly, he could definitely claim to be the best of his era and retire safe in the knowledge he had pushed back his biggest rival.
Wlad probably has another 3-4 years left if he chooses to, and if Vitali retires, he has the floor to himself.

haye needs more tomatoe can's & let the klits mature more before challenging them.
i really do feel when haye get's in a fight he'll be exposed, even by a flush jab.

Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
They have both got mandatories as it is
David Haye's WBA mandatory is Ruslan Chaghev (apologies for the spelling) , but it is might not get sanctioned in the UK due Chaghev's hepatitis problems a few years ago because it has been cleared up.
Vitali K's WBC mandatory is the winner of Ray Austin v Odlandier Solis's matching up. However both sanctioning bodies will be rubbing their hands at the sanctioning fees that they could potentially generate through this unifaction match plus Vitali must be getting bored of being fed WBC mandatories so why not fight Haye, as well as both Sky Sports and RTL in the UK and Germany in terms of the television sales with the Pay Per View Buys for Sky and advertising revenue for both Sky and RTL in Germany knowing what the considerable interest that one of the brothers K against Haye will potentially around the world, so please please Haye if you do read this sign the fight for either one of the brothers K. As these will be the fights that will generate the interest in the Heavyweight Division and boxing as a whole as this will be bigger than Lennox Lewis v Mike Tyson back in 2002.

Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
As long as its not like the contract Chisora and the others had to sign ie If you beat one, you have to agree to a rematch and if you win that too, you have to fight the other (as verified by Chisora himself).
50-50 terms and none of that bollocks, then there can't be an issue.

Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
Ive always thought that likely to. Haye has yet to take a big punch from a really big man, Barrett had him over, even though it was ruled a push, he blatantly went down.
I think either Klits straight shots will wobble him, but I will say this for Haye, he seems to have very good powers of recovery. Every time he has been put down, he has gotten back up, and come back firing, even against Thompson, the problem there is that he was just way too tired by that point. Against Mock, Barrett and Mormeck, he got up to stop his opponent soon afterward.

or to round up quickly, get the top 6 in the division to face off and fight each other in a series of fights to prove who is the best. you're absolutely right, thats what should be happening in every division.clopixolacuphase wrote:Khan managed to avoid having to face Maidana for quite some time. we all know who should be fighting who, but it seldom works like that unfortunately
another thing that hasn't been mentioned is the goldmine that is the USofA. it wouldn't just be the big TV money from brittain and germany. a haye vs klitchko fight would be enough to arouse the interest of the yanks in heavywieght boxing. especially as vitali says, if they have the fight over there. which would be an excelent idea in my opinion
one more quick question, why have neither of the klitchkos ever face valuev prior to haye beating him???
both of the klitchkos, wlad especially, specialise in overpowering smaller fighters, wlads repetative 1-2 style would be made inneffective against a far bigger opponent in my opinion.
Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
The impression I got was of Valuev being more of a protected Don King champ rather than the brother's avoiding him. I suppose that if you go back a few years to when Valuev first won the title (against Ruiz), Wlad was still rebuilding after his last KO loss and his rough time with the 3 knockdown fight against Peter. Valuev was still quite a intimidating figure: he was unbeaten and hadn't been exposed by the likes of Chagaev, Holyfield and Haye. Not really someone to stick Wlad in with at that point. Wlad really wasn't looking like the monster he does now at all. I can't even think who the other title holders were. Ibragamov and another Eastern European who was shot to bits. Help me out, somebody? Vitali was still retired back then and when he came back PETER was favorite to win, I believe. It's only the past couple of years that the bro's have started to look like invincible killing machines and Valuev has started to look so pathetic.davie wrote:or to round up quickly, get the top 6 in the division to face off and fight each other in a series of fights to prove who is the best. you're absolutely right, thats what should be happening in every division.clopixolacuphase wrote:Khan managed to avoid having to face Maidana for quite some time. That would be my move - i suggested donkeys ago when he was supposed to fight the klits he should take valuevs belt instead then go for wlad the weaker of the two.
chambers landed his right on wlads chin regularly he just didnt step into the punches. If Haye lands just once wlad is going to be in a world of hurt.
If he does fight vitali he should have an option that he gets to fight wlad next automatically win or loose imo.
Re: Vitali wants Haye to sign up in the next month
I think Vitali could be the easier option. Vitali is slower, easier to hit and has less one punch power than Wlad at this moment in time.
