Better chin though, and is IMO too durable for Haye, Haye can't go twelve rounds with either of them, getting them out of there is what he needs to do, and I'd fancy him to get Wlad out over Vitali.
It's a good point. Something to consider as well: When was Vitali last hit hard? Back in 2004. I can't help but think Vitali is over-rated, mostly because of the competitive nature of his loss to Lewis.

At the end of the day lewis hit vitali with a monster shot and he was still standing, that would be the concern if haye fights him. If he doesnt go down then its unlikely he can just keep out of his way for 12 rounds like valuev. Plus vitali is technically a better boxer.

Wlad imo only has the jab and the overhand right in his arsenal both very powerfull - but long range shots. Once haye gets inside those shots wlads pretty much neutralised.

Vitali was 31 when he fought Lewis. He's now 39. That's quite a difference. Vitali has shown a decline in speed, reflexes and power.

Haye will not get inside Wlad's jab. Wlad would either land on Haye as he's on the way in, or Wlad would hug him.

Haye will easily get inside wlads jab, anytime a fighter has tried to hug haye or lean on him he just sticks his head down and throws blind shots and they soon think twice about it. Plus haye doesnt slowly walk in stooped over at waist height like the other fighters do inviting wlad to hold onto then. He springs in and unleashes a flurry of accurate bombs.

Chagaev is Haye's mandatory? That's a really horrible match-up for Haye.

Klitschko is the older brother of IBF and WBO champion Wladimir and wants to fight Haye first because "Wladimir will kill him".
Rubbish, big brother wants first crack because little brother's liable to get sparked.

I don't think so. Rightly or wrongly, it was this particular match that sold so well, with Sky's amazing promo job and Harrison's charisma. What happened on the night doesn't change the reasons why it was a box office smash. After all, Haye vs the better John Ruiz can't have done a fraction of the numbers Haye-Harrison did.

The BIG question is, are the Klits still insisting that Haye has to hand over half the UK PPV money in exchange for half of the German TV money (which is far far less)?

Yes, they are. They want 50-50 overall.

But the Klitschkos will draw more money from the USA. Both fighters will be a name in all 3 markets

There really shouldn't be a problem with that on Haye's side (I know that was the sticking point before). He knows the Klits have a TV deal in place and they, like it or not, are the top fighters in the division by some distance. Haye should take a fair 50:50 split and be willing to concede the extra money he could have got from a German PPV deal to make the fight happen.

Haye has to realise fans have shelled out to see him in Germany v Wlad before the pull out and also paid for fights like Saturday's. It is only right that he should do all he can to make these fights happen. He has to realise he is doing bloody well to get a 1 fight, 50:50 deal from K2.

I am still 100% behind Haye but if Haye again refuses to sign a deal based on this point and fights someone other than a Klit, then he will have lost my and no doubt countless others support.

It deopends how you look at 50/50? Bernard Bonte has said both his fighters must receive 50% of the PPV generated by SKY! So, therefore, Haye should receive 50% of the PPV generated by German television, the channel who back the Klitschkos?

I have a hunch we just might see Haye-Vitali at Wembley! Bonte has said they will go wherever the most money is!

Haye-Vitali at Wembley? Please, please, just sort out your egos, sign the f*cking contract and I'll sell my house to buy a ticket if I have to!

MachoMan09 wrote:I am trying to fathom the best place to hold Klitschko vs Haye. It's easy for the the Vitalites to shout "Hamburg" and the Haye fanboys "London", but does Vegas not generate more money for all concerned? Hatton vs Mayweather sold more PPVs in this country than any fight held here, same with Lewis vs Tyson; so what's the benefit of holding it here other than to eliminate a lot of potential American customers? Hamburg is another hour the wrong way for the Yanks, so I personally wouldn't hold it there either - unless they are bound by contract.
Ticket revenue would be alot less in Vegas compared to Wembley or Hamburg, but the site fee they pay in Vegas might make up for the loss of revenue

Hmm, Wembley, not sure about that. I mean, theres a reason there's been no fights staged there for what seems like an eternity. It's a shit to get to as well.

It doesn't.

He has until April before the mandatory becomes an issue again. Check their rules.

But fight time here is daytime in the states, it isn't their middle of the night, 10pm here is 5pm east coast. Fight at around midnight and I'm sure they could have gotten both markets, the fight was huge.
I just don't think the Americans would go in for a middle of the day fight. I might be wrong.
No way would they.
