Can someone tell me when the weigh in for this fight is due to take place?
I imagine it will be shown live on Foxsports News?

Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
i think its about 25 hours before the fight so it would be late this arvo at a guess
Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
I think IBO allows 30 hours, so it hits 5 & 6pm news/sport.
Other orgs have dud weigh-ins for this reason.

Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
Another site said Green weighed in at 86.5kgs and Flores weighed in at 89.5kgs. I do not know how accurate it was.

Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
i suppose the weigh in is irrelevant really. green probably wont weigh anymore than that tomorrow night but flores will certainly be a lot more
i think green came in at 82.7 for the briggs fight so he has put on a bit and doesnt look at all podgy around the middle like he did for siacca,

Here is an article with some weigh in pictures...

I thought Flores would have a decent advantage in weight. I suppose if his plan is to be mobile and outbox Green, coming in light makes sense.

Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
Flores kind of reminds me of Green for Mundine v Green, he looks fit, but he didn't need to be 2 kilo lighter than the limit.
We'll all see tomorrow night.

Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
Overall I'd say Green is about the weight I expected and Flores is a little lighter than I expected. Flores looks good, he's a natural cruiserweight, not a shrunken down heavyweight and should be in great condition for the fight. I expect Green to be around 88.5kg for the fight and Flores about 92.5kg. Also Flores is just one inch taller than Green, the only serious size advantage he has is 7 inches in reach. I will be very interested to see how Green deals with Flores's jab.

it seems there were purse incentives if he came in at 1 or 2 kilos below the limit.
i wonder how dehydrated he made himself trying to make that weight.
he will probably still have a fair wieght advantage too by tomorow night but i gotta say he looks a lot smaller compared to the first press confrence they did and skinnier in the arms than green

i dont think green should have huge dramas with flores jab , only if he can land his own will he come into trouble i reckon. cant wait to see tomorow night

Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
Just listened to Jeff Fenech on one of the sports talk back radio shows over here in Perth. he really needs to build a bridge and get over Green sacking him. He called this fight another one sided affair and Green was just cashing in and wouldnt fight the top blokes out there etc etc etc....and in the same breath said he knew nothing about Flores and was basing what he said on advice from Jay Nady !! Hey Jeff, get a computer or a dvd machine or whatever it is you need before saying this fight is shit. Dont rely on a possible first rnd ko to justify your comments, first rnd ko's can happen in any fight. He went on to do a lot of self promoting and also carry on about Adam Forsyth and that he hoped Adam can get a crack at Green in about 18 months. Well jeff if you treat Adam the same as you treated Greeny it wont concern you anyway, because you wont be with him !! I have much respect for jeff as a fighter but he sounded like a child who had lost his toy on the radio tonight.

I'd have thought giving himself every opportunity to win, would outweight any purse incentives.scottearley123456 wrote:it seems there were purse incentives if he came in at 1 or 2 kilos below the limit.

Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
Stipe Drewes had a massive advantage in height and reach over Green. It did not help him.jezzamundo wrote:Overall I'd say Green is about the weight I expected and Flores is a little lighter than I expected. Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
I have to say I'm pretty surprised by this turn of events...
Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
I think it did. If Drews didn't have those advantages I don't think he would have managed to last the distance. Obviously physical disadvantages can be overcome, as was evident in the Green/Briggs wins over Drews, but they can make things more difficult.Brute wrote:Stipe Drewes had a massive advantage in height and reach over Green. Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
Good reply, I think had Drews had more power and physical strength his size advantage would have meant more. I don't think the height means anything, but if Flores can jab consistently from the outside while blocking/avoiding Green's, it could win him rounds. Drews didn't have a great jab, Flores does. This said, while Flores looks good I think he has his head in the wrong place if he's gone 2kg under the limit just to earn extra money. Sounds like insurance money in case he loses to me.crusader wrote:I think it did. If Drews didn't have those advantages I don't think he would have managed to last the distance. Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
The height definitely means nothing here, one inch is not really an advantage at all. Looking at the pictures and the weights they came in at, Flores doesn't really have the size advantage I thought he would. I also have to wonder if he over trained to make his weight, which is a career low. A lot of times when fighters do this they fade prematurely, which is not good against a strong guy like Green who has shown he can still punch in round twelve. I put this fight at 55/45 Green before the weigh in, but I am more confident of a Green win now. Flores is still a very live dog though, so it should be interesting to see what happens….
Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
Oddly enough the only other fight Drewes lost was to Briggs. Didn't he go downhill in a hurry!jezzamundo wrote:Good reply, I think had Drews had more power and physical strength his size advantage would have meant more. Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
This is pretty well exactly how I am feeling - I had it 55/45 before, but now I'm feeling more 60/40 or even 65/35 in Green's favour. Hope I'm right! It will be interesting to see what Flores looks like in the ring.crusader wrote:The height definitely means nothing here, one inch is not really an advantage at all. Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
88.6 kgs equals 13m stone 13lbs 5oz. Near enough to a full sized cruiserweight.
Re: D.Green v Flores weigh in
about five pounds off
