New sanctioning body formed

Former referee and commissioner, Larry Hazzard, Sr., announced yesterday that he and former IBF president and founding member, Marian Muhammad, have formed a world combative sports sanctioning organization based in New Jersey. The Combative Sports Federation, Inc., or CSF, will include rankings of professional boxers and mixed martial artists around the world. Hazzard, a 50-year veteran of both sports, is eager to lead the organization as president with his partner, Marian Muhammad as vice president. Former New York boxing commissioner, Randy Gordon, will serve as the organization’s ratings chairman, and former WBC supervisor and liaison to U.S. Commissions, Rhonda Utley-Herring, will be the championships chairman.

“We have a very competent staff with the experience and passion for maintaining the integrity, health and safety of combative sports. Together, we have more than a century and a half of experience in all aspects of boxing. Championships chairman Utley-Herring and I authored the unified rules that professionalized the sport of mixed martial arts while at the New Jersey commission, when no one else would touch them and for me, this is just the next logical progression”, said Hazzard.

The recent International Boxing Hall of Famer believes that there’s definitely room for a credible sanctioning organization in the world of combative sports. He is hopeful that his new organization will make the sports more competitive. According to Hazzard, even with the number of sanctioning organizations that already exist, they still cannot rank all of the fighters who are deserving of a chance to vie for a world title.

Hazzard says he and his team will continue the work he started at the IBF when he and Muhammad called a meeting of all of the major world boxing sanctioning organizations to discuss important changes necessary to bring the sport into the 21st century, such as the formation of a super heavyweight division, the unified use of instant replay, unification of titles, and increased participation of female champions. He also met with the Boxing Promoters Association, BPA, headed by Joe DeGuardia, who expressed their enthusiasm over Hazzard’s desire to include promoters’ opinions and comments during his initial development and structure of the CSF championship rules

That is when an actor agree to forgo any compensation until the film makes money, then they enjoy a greater percentage of the profits.

Maybe we could continue with the modern day practice of presenting a boxer with a belt everytime he steps into a ring..
However, we have to be different than the other alphabet organizations.

That means we'll need a lot of belts.
Our championship belts will be funtional, as they will be a real belt, one that buckles and can hold up a pair pants.
I've got belts that date back decades. Thin belts, thick belts, all colors, some are new, others I've never worn.
I'll donate all of them. I'll keep a couple in case I need one, however, the rest will be presented to our over achievers, and the under achievers.
The best will receive a newer belt, the lower end talent will get one that's been "broken in".
I've got one that Jack Nicholson gave us who were on the crew of "The Two Jakes", that's very cool. Never worn it.
That one goes to Pac.

Spoiling the "old lady" . . . .


Frank, I haven't purchased the clothes line yet (I'm going to surprise her with one one Xmas day), however, I did pick of a box of clothes pins. I found a nice box of fifty pins and they are really impressive. Instead of the common wood or plastic pins, these are made of bamboo. I'm going to tell her the bamboo pins are from a tropical resort island, and that they will give her a chance to imagine she were hanging her clothes in paradise. Once again, a gift that keeps on giving, one that drys the clothes and offers up a fantasy. Since the clothes pins provide the fantasy I won't have to actually take her to such a place, and put the money toward something more practical, like PPV fights and training pads, beer, etc.

My question is this, are the bamboo pins over-the-top??? I don't want to spoil her.

This morning after Connie left for work I jumped in the shower, after showering I was brushing my teeth when I heard the phone ring, by the time I got to it; it stopped ringing, I looked at the caller ID and seen it was from Connie, I called her back and first thing she did was yell at me:
"Where the hell were you!?, called your cell and home phone and you didn't answer!"
"I was taking a shower"
"So early!, it's not like you're going to work!"
"I have to go to the bank and deposit YOUR money, remember?"
