The boz was a real danger who seems to have been mismanaged
And frozen out. A loss to the division. Would have provided a much better klit challenge than most of th other US losers.

Not even the relentless plugging might of Secondsout could propel him to the top

Yeah they really loved him on Secondsout. They'd put articles about what Greenberg had for breakfast as their headline article. I might have imagined it but I'm almost certain at one time the url for Secondsout routed to romangreenberg.com
Re: Whatever happened to...Roman Greenberg
Roman works on the doors in Tel Aviv. He's doing okay. It's a great city for a night out if anybody is looking for a change from the Balearics next summer.

A nice guy ... but quite simply he wasnt prepared to "live the life"
I remember being in Monte Carlo the night before the show .. who walks in the club ... yep Roman.
The ladies loved him, but its a shame for those who invested in him, he could have done so much more.

Secondsout is owned by Greenbergs old promoter, hence the hype machine going into overdrive on their site.DaveyH wrote:dookus wrote:Not even the relentless plugging might of Secondsout could propel him to the top

He was going through the motions for years. Very average power and a little too much hype. Lost any pretension for a championship run when he got separated from his senses, and quit. He's probably a bouncer now.

Very insightful. What makes you think he's a bouncer polecat?

Tomasino, as Polecateddy suggests, read higher up the thread, I saw him in Tel Aviv the other month.

Yeah I noticed that.
Polecat wrote "he's probably a bouncer" as if that was his guess. He's just an idiot and I was being sarcastic.

Seen him fight a few times in Sheffield.
There was this bloke called David Haye way down the undercard back in 2003.
In late 2004 when he beat Julius Francis he had Haye and Brook on his undercard.
Spud's right. Another one to add to the list of if only s.

He did have ability & threw some unorthodox uppercuts like naz was a influence on him & I thought he had very decent accuracy.
His heart never looked in it & he was lazy.didnt mike Holden knock him out in the gym????

I think I read somewhere that Haye knocked Greenberg out in sparring, which doesn't mean he was bad, as Haye is a huge puncher, but I wonder if that affected his confidence as well.Parson Cross wrote:Seen him fight a few times in Sheffield.

He was going to be the 1st Jewish heavyweight champion of the world, wasn't he?mercman wrote:Yes, I know he got stopped by Cedric Boswell a couple of years ago. But does anybody know what is he doing now? Is he planning a comeback? Is he retired? Or is he doing something else? All this stuff about Audley got me thinking about other overrated heavyweights and Greenberg just came to mind. There was a time in the early 2000s when he was meant to be the next big thing. I remember Greenberg was very young when he turned pro and he must only be in his late-20s now. Just seems to have disappeared.
Shame he was crap.

Maxie was not Jewish, although some will insist he was.

No, his dad was but his mum wasn't although he was proud of his Jewish roots.Old bones Ian wrote:
