I'm really hoping he does win tonight: feel desperately sorry he's not been given chances...

But even if he *does* win, I'm afraid I can't see how he would get a world title shot: he would need a powerful promoter behind him to lobby the world governing bodies to rank him.

When he was with Jack Doughty, after he destroyed Derry Mathews, FW became briefly involved--and surprise, surprise, all of a sudden Choi got ranked by the WBO. But then came the inactivity (presumably because no-one would fight him, and presumably because FW didn't bust a gut/his wallet to get another ranked fighter from abroad to box him).

I believe he would never consider adopting British citizenship because it would have put his Mongolian citizenship in jeopardy (I'm guessing Mongolia don't recognize *joint* citizenship?). But for me, becoming a UK citizen was the best chance he had at getting somewhere, because then there would have been no avoiding him, as every top feather bar Derry Mathews has done. Look at Shinny Bayaar: he was another avoided fighter who couldn't get matches, but then he became a British citizen, was made mandatory for the British title, and Edwards and the rest have to face him, whether they like it or not. Which also opens the way up for a tilt at the EBU title...Win that, and you *will* get a WBC ranking, and there may be a chance to make things happen...

All I'm sayingvis winning prize fighter means nothing in terms of ability at championship level. Granted choi has far more heart and determination than audley, bit it's your name that makes you a contender. Look at James degale, dine fornicate all, but talked up like the next jc

Yeah, thought he'd start slow due to rust but he picked the quality shots and deserved it. Think I'll keep my overall prediction close to my chest

Is being drunk in charge of posting responsibilities on a forum an offence?

I take it Troy is a mate, fought one fighter with a winning record in his 10 contests and he is going up
against a true hard case and fringe world class fighter and your pal will box 'rings around him'? :TU:

I've heard that Troy James is overweight, can anyone verify it? Was thinking of placing a cheeky bet on a reserve to win it if he can't make it
