Holyfield makes Comeback

Post by Old bones Ian »

well sort of.

Evander Holyfield is to make a new comeback, on the dance floor. The former undisputed heavyweight champion is to appear in the American version of Bruce Forsyth's BBC television show Strictly Come Dancing. Holyfield's twinkle-toed rivals will include model Rachel Hunter and Joey McIntyre of the boy band New Kids On The Block.

After all the clinching during his legendary trilogy with John Ruiz, perhaps they could pair up. I can just picture Evander and Ruiz waltzing across the floor....

And they need a presenter with a camp voice for the show, Mike Tyson is still looking for any work he can get.

The whole world has gone mad, he must be hard up if he's doing this, or maybe he wants to go into TV presentation? Either way, the only thing injured doing this will be his feet and ankles, which can only be a good thing.

The man is in constant need of attention. That's all there is to it.

Or he is in need of cash. Perhaps he can become the oldest ballroom dancing champ ever?

Seriously, let's assume the guy is broke. How the hell do you spend all the money he's earned?

In seriousness. I'd heard rumours that he'd finally been convinced to hang up the gloves which is obviously good news.

Looks like his advisors are pushing him into celeb land. Which should take up his time, keep him in the limelight and produce an income - all keeping away from thoughts of boxing again. So good news.

In non-seriousness. He should be the next Ozzy Osbourne (not that i ever watched his show) and have a reality tv show where his dozens of kids are always climbing all over him and demanding Xboxes and bikes and he has to keep all is ex-wives/baby mommas in furs and their mansions staffed up.

I can see him now driving around Atlanta complaining to camera in a desperate sweaty mumble as he makes he's alimony rounds.

This has the makings of an excellent computer game.

Grand Theft Auto - Atlanta starring Evander Holyfield! ;)

How can he be a TV presenter? I can barely understand a word he says.

Maybe Mike Tyson is his financial advisor? :TU:

In seriousness, it's far from impossible for him to be broke. The guy has fornicating shit loads of children out of wedlock, and in America, they cruficy men for that sort of thing. I think he has something like 7 lots of palimony payments to handle, which is probably no trifling matter. He proably also pays out money to his ex-wife following divorce, and who knows what kind of crazy spending habits. An American boxer I spoke to said there were a lot of rumours over his financial status not being so good.

I don't know that he ever had a massive entourage like Tyson, but he didn't earn as much either, though of course it wasn't exactly an insignificant amount he earned.

I have heard that he has given all his money to the church, wheras a former opponent of his has taken millions from churches.
