Promoter Paul Graham ,the ex Scottish referee, had his second show last night at the Wishaw Sports Centre just outside Motherwell.
There were 6 contests and there was a fair crowd in attendance .
Paul Burns from Uddingston outpointed Willie Thompson from Larne over 6 x 2's . Referee Pringle scored it 59-55. Thompson lacked the discipline expected from a professional boxer and refused to shake hands with Burns after the fight . Poor show although my own personal opinion was that he had actually won the fight !
Best fight of the night was young Paul Allison from Stranraer who outpointed Lincoln's Ric Boulter , 59-55 , over 6 x 2's Good movement and solid punching from Allison won him the day against a decent opponent whom he floored heavily midway through the fight .
John Boy Mc Callum showboated too much for me as he outpointed Belfast's Phil Townley convincingly .Townley was fit and strong and was not overawed by the flashy Mc Callum . Mc Callum picked his punches well but from the look of him he was carrying a bit of excess poundage for some reason .
Best performer of the night in the opinion of many at ringside was pro debutant Chris Steel from nearby Coltness . He gained a 60-54 verdict over Daniel Thorpe . Thorpey done his usual but was picked off regularly with quick jabs and long right hands . One to watch is young Steel .
Mark Bett lasted only 1.59 of the first before referee Pringle quite rightly stepped in and halted proceedings after he took a vicious right hand from Jason Hastie . There were some protests at ringside but Bett was only seconds from being KO'd .
Santino Caruana outpointed Northern Irelands Michael Harvey 40-35 over 4 x 3's . From the opening bell Harvey had only one thought in his mind and that was survival . I'll let readers imagine what this fight was like .

Re: fight report from Wishaw show last night
thanks for that report mate.
I was wondering what the results were.
Townley is as tough as old boots and will always give value for money.
Thompson seems like he is trying to steal Greaves crowns as the pantomime villian.
Pity there was no room for Joe Rea on the show.
