In the slo-mo replay you can see Derry's ribcage sort of jolt back on impact. Huge shot and looked very painful.

Thought your performances were easily the most pleasing on the eye. Some really excellent, slick counter-punching. And after the McCarthur victory, had a sneaky feeling you'd go on and win it. But Buckland was also in great form on the night, and fair play to both of you for making it such an entertaining spectacle.

was a superb night - derry looked very stylish and classy in his first fight, used his range well and picked his punches, the choi match was 50/50 but he probably landed the more quality shots, Sykes' QF was the most assured performance and really his class should have told against Buckland but dropping his left hand like that was a sign of inexperience, hopefully he'll learn, i like the kid. Buckland showed a lot of desire and even after 2 tough fights Derry showed a lot of quality and in the strongest field ever no-one disgraced themselves.

Would love to see over 12 - Choi v Derry, Sykes v Buckland - Crolla in the mix too - great competitive weight in the UK at the moment and all credit for the promoters for pulling together a first class line up when some of the recent ones have been disappointing... A welterweight one would be nice - maybe people like Mick Jennings could get involved, maybe even Junior Witter if he can step up a weight - for sure the lighter fighters give the better value in this format.

All the fighters showed class and respect and fought like quality warriors - a top night after a bit of a farcical night at the MEN when we had to witness Audley freeze out of his class and Groves showing some guts but ultimately not having anywhere near the quality he thinks he has... I reckon Groves will be in Prizefighter with in 18 Months whilst De Gale and hopefully Smigga are fighting bigger fights.

Was a fantastic night for Derry, despite him being stopped in the final.

I believe he's shown his worth. He can definitely mix it up with the top boys at the weight.

Looked strong, as demonstrated in his first two fights. Took some digs from Choi but bounced back with his own attacks - was spectacular.

Knew as soon as Buckland sparked Sykes that it was all against Derry in the final. A fresh Buckland was going to be a nightmare to compete with, so no shame.

Can't wait to see you back in the mix Derry, you'll be back around the top sooner rather than later.

Beats Crolla and Sykes imo.

It was up there, wasn't it. What did everyone think about the scoring int hat one, because I have to say that I had Choi by the odd round because his punches were clearly hurting every time he landed (which was often), even if Derry was coming back with some decent combinations. I'd certainly pay to see a 12 round "decider" between the two.

Hats off you Derry, showed amazing courage and even when cut in two by that body shot looked like you were trying to get over it and get on with it.

Take note Fraudley, a real fighting man with a big heart.

Fantastic performance Derry mate! I thought your fight with Choi was fight of the night and over all I thought all three of your fights were the most entertaining. That body shot would have stopped a buffalo. Glad you are feeling back in form and I hope the performance you put on gives you the springboard back into title contention that you deserve. See you in the gym soon. :TU:

Well done Derry, made up to see you back in the spotlight. I would hope that you can become an active boxer again and have a big night at the arena sometime. It would be nice to see you on a big bill with a full arena supporting you in your home town. I wanted you to retire after the knockdowns the last couple of years but its definately obvious there is still something burning deep inside and there is still a lot of hunger within yourself to prove that you can mix it at a certain level.

Good luck Derry and just keep on thinking of that full arena. It would be a great night.
