Ah right, I haven't seen the fight itself I'm only going off what I've heard and read.

I've just Youtubed it now, it is a great punch but yeah it's nowhere near as bad as what I've read and heard about it.

That's often the problem as time passes. People like to embellish and embroider and things just get perpetuated like they're fact etc.

You'd think Sven Ottke never won a fight fairly if you listened to some people.

one thing to consider. martinez arguably won the first fight, a bout he took at late notice. hard enough to prepare for williams at all, never mind coming in late notice.

this time he had plenty of time to train specifically for williams. this is NOT the PW story. it's about martinez, the guy who stepped up, beat the champ (pavlik), and then swept aside mr uncrowned (as some were claiming) williams.

is all this martinez-chavez jr talk for real? nice cash in for a man who's paid his dues. chavez jr of course was made martine's challenger at both 154 and 160 by the WBC.

Gosh, I'd pay good money to see Martinez beat the wossname out of Chavez jr. That'd be bloody ugly though -- Martinez'll stand him on his head.
