Biggest money maker in UK

Post by Mimmy »

Which fight with both UK fighters taking place in England broke box office records?

I don't know the answer so its not a quiz, just thought about this and came up with these fights but doubt non of them are correct.

Nigel Benn v Michael Watson

Frank Bruno v Lennox Lewis

thats it really.

Its got to be Hatton-Lazcano or Calzaghe-Kessler.Benn-Watson was in a tent and much less of an event than Eubank-Benn 2.Bruno-Lewis and McCall-Bruno were far from sell-outs.

The Benn-Eubank tfights must have made a few quid as the first fight was at the NEC Arena in Birmingham which is about 22,000 capacity arena, and the fight at Old Trafford got a crowd of 42,000

The NEC holds nowhere near 22,000.Its nearer 10,000.

Probably something like Cooper-Bugner if you adjust for inflation.

Actually I would say Benn V Eubank 2 (Outdoors) or (Being clever) Calzaghe V Starie.

Can you expand on Calzaghe V Starie? Why did that do so well?
It was on the Tyson-Francis undercard.Using that logic,i would go for Craig Watson-Matthew Hatton.

Benn-Eubank II drew a far larger crowd than Lewis-Bruno, so that would be my bet.

It also depends on whether you mean revenue or profit... I'm assuming the former.

This would have grossed more than any of the aforementioned in actual net revenue sales.

16,000 according to Wikpedia which makes the 4th biggest indoor arena in the UK. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Indoor_Arena
