JETS!

I'm only interested in the Jets this season, win or lose.
No Jets, no football for me on this holiday. :witzend:
Last week I looked to see if the Jets were televised locally and they weren't.
So as I sat writing on the computor, I followed the game on line.
I was very happy when the Raiders came to L.A. as they were still THE RAIDERS.
First season here they brought L.A. our first Super Bowl trophy.
After that, they seemed to go Hollywood and fell apart.
I was glad when Al Davis packed them up and moved them back up North.
Maybe it's better if we in L.A. don't have an NFL team?
I'm enjoying the Jets and the quarterback who couldn't get a snap playing behind Matt Leinert at USC.
Sanchez is learning, and doing pretty good for a young QB. I believe he will get better with time.
Rick, we're on the same page, I too only care about the JETS this season, they're the only team I'll follow this season.
I was talking football with Don Fraser this morning and I told him I was only following the JETS, he told me the only reason I was doing that was because they have a Chicano QB, I told that we all have our faults..... :OhYes:
Frank, I like our homie too, but I also like New Yorkers.
When I think of the Jets I can't help but remember back in the early 70's when they had this guy they called "Broadway Joe".
Like the Raiders of old, when this team is on anything is likely to happen.
I think of the Jets as a "stand-up team". My East coast amigos are all stand-up guys.
Most of my stand-up friends in L.A. are either Chicano, or transplanted New Yorkers.
The Jets (8-2) play the Bengals (2-8) today.
 N.Y. Jets
(and Viva Sanchez! :OhYes: )

Happy Thanksgiving to all my pals here on "West Coast Boxing" from the De La O family.
My son Andrew is here visiting with us. It's good to have him home with us. We'll be eating our Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter Meranda's house. It's her first turkey. Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. It's all about spending time with the family. I'm hoping to be in pain later on in the day!!

By the way, my daughter Meranda will be at the Juan Manuel Marquez-Michael Katsidis fight Saturday. She won a contest and scored some tickets. She will be given the VIP treatment and be picked up from her hotel room in a limo. She'll be seated with Oscar and will be in the ring at some point, either during the beginning of the fight or after. Keep an eye out for her if you're watching the fight.

On the road with the Black Hawks . . .

Turkey, stuffing, pie, a little wine, the Twilight Zone marathon . . . a quiet Thanksgiving for Monica & I this year.
Our pal Brian Higgins is in San Jose with the the Stanley Cup winning Chicago Black Hawks tonight.
Tomorrow he'll be in Anaheim, where the Hawks play the Ducks, and then Saturday at the Staples Center for the Kings.
I forget how many cities the Black Hawks hit on this 12-day tour, but our ExPug is in charge of security, keeps them safe off the ice.

Boxers I know, fighters I respect. This is what I think of when I remember "my time" . . .
Ruben Olivares vs. Bobby Chacon-2 . . .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGc_IUpy ... re=related

When I think of the late 60's, in L.A. the best were Ramos and Quarry.
In the early 70's, Lopez and Chacon were huge, and a guy from Mexico named Olivares.
Olivares was the best of the best. My opinion.

Bobby Chacon vs. Danny Lopez . . .
The best of two West Coast headliners circa mid-70's. :TU:

Frank the best tamales I get are from an old Mexican women who sells them out of a push cart, I see her when I am at our local grocery store, the pork ones are my favorite although I sometimes have the chicken tamales. :TU:

Frank you like albondigas or pesole, I prefer either over your favorite menudo, I also like salad with guacamole as the dressing, have you ever tried that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The best Tamales I've had were made by the wife of Phoenix boxing gym owner, Richard Rodriguez.
On Xmas in Arizona, my mother would make Turkey and Mrs. Rodriguez would make great Tamales.
