David Tua March 19th Auckland

Post by cjscott »

Todays local paper in Auckland has David Tua fighting in March 19th in Auckland..

2 fighters have been named..Bob Mirovic and Clarence Tillman..1 a 44yr old grandfather the other 135kg American..Given this fight would be Tua's last fight on Maori TV deal it may be the best way for him to get an easy fight and the chance to get a decent pay day on pay per view.. :witzend: Whats the fight game comming to?I am sure there is greater fighters out there that would put on a better show than these 2..

Your thoughts boxing fans???

if mirovic is silly enough to get in the ring with tua then thats his own fault if he gets badly hurt. tough titties if he gets battered.

r.i.p. big bob.

I guess you'll have to ask NZPBA & NZNBF, whether they'll be prepared to be part of it?

It could be promoted as a handicap match WWF style with Tua taking on both easybeats at the same time!

April Fools Day must come early in Auckland!

Joseph Rabotte has put his hand up to fight Tua. Rabotte is better than what his record suggests and hes comming off a win over Taurus Sykes he wouldnt be any worse than big Bob in fact id say Rabotte beats Bob!

The "Maori TV" deal has caused far too much grief for Tua. Makes one wonder why he got into it in the first place..... anyhow, It's a crying shame that he has to fight a bum to get over this "deal"..... oh well.

I like Tua, but I really wish he would retire.

In his prime, he never had the technical ability to be HW champ, but at 38 & well over the hill, he's beginning to border on being embarrassing.

How often can Big Bob fight? His second round KO last weekend over Gasio would mean he can't fight for a while, but may encourage him to keep fighting.

Monte Barrett is also on this card. Both are up against "TBA". I wonder if the promoter will decide to have them fight a rematch?

Aruba story is all bullshit. Next March...well let's wait and see.... hoping for a "credible" opponent.... not a bum by Tua's standards

syntax,

the fact he beat 4 world champs says he was good enough. he just didn't beat them when they had the belt. wouldn't be too many fighters who have done that i wouldn't have thought.

I believed all along David shoulds of had 3 quick fights in succession against the C level guys and cleared his MTV contract once and for all. March is simply a fight to clear the MTV deal and allow decent money to be made on PPV events. Dont expect a classy opponent for March thats not what march is about!
