There has been quite a bit of coverage in The Mirror to be fair, but it's ridiculous that the fight isn't on a more mainstream channel. Very hard to understand.

it's just received barely any attention this fight.

such a shame.

i give froch respect for being loyal to hennessy.

many fighters would have told him where to go i think.
Its probably got more attention in the states than in the UK.
& finland. :OhYes:

they should have tossed a coin on england or germany.

f*cking finland. :witzend:

I thought Carl famously walked around very close to 168, and was only recently having any trouble making it? There was an article about it a couple of months ago in Fighting Fit. I though both looked pretty bad against Dirrell, but I still stand by the fact I thought Carl won. I thought Abraham was completely exposed though and looked very ordinary. I still think (hope) Abraham is overrated at super middle because of what he did to poor old Jermain Taylor, who had seriously declined. I don't really like Abraham at all. I'm sticking with Froch to win. COME ON CARL!!!

Froch looked absolutely clueless against Dirrell also. Dirrell is extremely awkward and hard to look good against.

Agreed , i believe from what im told by people who know him personally that he walks round at about 175 naturally

I remember when people in notts were first taking notice of him saying " he dont look much , just a skinny , big nosed lad , how can he be a good boxer ? looks a pussy " till they saw him fight .

Carl does look drained compared to AA, but probably just dodgy lighting on the photo.

Froch always preferred to lean back and counterpunch, it's not as if he's always been a brawler or always fought that way. If he can work the jab effectively, then he does have the power to give Abraham a problem when he comes steaming in, especially if AA comes in offbalance like he did against Dirrell in round 4. Carl would have finished him there.

This match up is incredible, if this turns out to be a drab affair, I'll be amazed.

Arthur may be smaller, but he's a very powerful man, and an explosive puncher.

Kessler outworked and outfinessed Froch, I think Arthur will outwork and outpunch him, Froch will probably be able to keep him at bay for the first few rounds, but eventually Abraham is going to work his way inside the reach, and that's where Carl's problems start, because he simply doesn't defend well enough.

I just cannot wait for this fight.
100% agree with this comment.

This is a real right with 2 'real' fighters.

Froch should definitely have a higher profile, because love him or hate him, he is a warrior & he comes to fight & most of his fights are entertaining.

After the dirge that Parcel Force Harrison (in conjunction with David Haye) served up 2 weekends ago, this fight is very welcome IMHO.

It's just a bit galling that neither man will probably get paid anywhere near what Harrison & Haye got paid. :witzend:

Well, that's fcuking ridiculous. Abraham is only 5'9/10!

Carl Froch is an intelligent man who has studied sports science to degree level. He does not pack loads of fluids in after a weigh in as it does little to get glucose and nutrients into muscle cells. Froch knows the game and plays it his way. He is in a real fight tonight and it'll be mint! :box:

Froch's habit of eating punches will be his undoing tonight. Having never been hit by either man, my expert analysis is that Abraham hits harder & more accurately than Kessler, and I'll be expecting a chilling one punch kayo late on.

Then we can toss Froch into the abyss & forget about the first Brit in years who was willing to ruck with the elite fight after fight, thus allowing us all to get back to the more serious business of celebrating Calzaghe, Hatton, and Khan.

Abraham certainly has the better underwear, btw.

I bet he was great at track and field at school.
To be fair he was on the floor at the time. Dirrell's performance vs Abraham was probably the best of the tournament up to that point.

I've always wondered how he makes 168.
Your bang on the moeny there. I met him at a show once and ended up talking to him and Carl Thompson in the car park. They looked about the same size!

McCracken is currently saying in an interview that Froch is the bigger man, that Abraham is just moving up from middleweight.

Edit: And now he's saying that Froch beat the undisputed light heavyweight champion. Bloody hell, is there no end to it? I guess now I can see why Froch doesn't fix his mistakes.

Well, my allegiances are now sorted. Come on Abraham!

Absolutely spot on, James. I love Carl Froch. From the beginning, I have thought that Froch's technique would find him wanting at the top level, and I think that it kind of has. But what a thrilling fighter, and what a fabulous attitude he has. So while I'm less enamoured than some are with his quality, I'm also a big, big fan. More like him, and boxing would be more popular.

I also think your assessment of the Abraham fight is spot on. I think that Abrahamyan simply punches too hard, and his guard is too good, for a man with Froch's technical, and especially defensive, deficiencies. But does it matter? Nope. It'll be another triller, Froch will provide another night of fabulous entertainment, and I guarantee I'll finish the night admiring Froch more than I did before.

Love the man.

Just watching PrimeTime's replay of the Kessler fight and I was thinking that with his granite chin, supreme conditioning, his heart and attitude, if his technique was just a little better, he'd be one of the best in the world at any weight.

Come on Carl!
