Amir Khan Fight was NOT fix!!
As I have said elsewhere Khan didnt look much better than he did a year ago, Kindelan was a shadow of the fighter we saw in Athens.
All this crap about Khan adopting tactics etc, I didnt see much of that he was just throwing wildly a lot of the time.
A good win for him, but lets not pretend he's improved that much.
Was he really much better than he was in Athens? I didn't see it. But it was enough on the night and congratulations. Good luck to him in the pro game.

you could add dozens of fighters who are looking likely to stand in his way, interestingly chavez jr's last performance was allegedy his best to date, he was being slated by some in the US but his last performance was supposedly fairly impressive.split_decision wrote:Add Chavez Jr to that list. Same age as Khan and 18 pro wins already.Wales wrote:champ by 21 .... of what though ?
Is he going to operate at light welter or lightweight, eitherway i think he's got a long way to go and the likes of mayweather, corrales, morrales (looking likely), cotto et al might have something to say about him getting hit mits on a geniuine world title.

I've got a mate who's disabled and he can't spell
These Khan fixing allegations are conspiracy theories gone mad.
Why wouls FW risk his proposed ITV contract?
Why would Kindelan jeopardise his outstanding reputation?
Why would allegedly jeopardise his outstanding reputation?
(the last one is a joke)

I must say I don't think it was a fix myself. Khan has improved since the Olympics and may be physically a little stronger than he was, plus he was training for Kindelan and Kindelan only. Plus Kindelan is a little older himself in a more detrimental way. I still think Mario didn't look very "up for it", but maybe Cubans can't get interested in fights with no medals on offer.
There's probably a lot of truth in thatChopping Right wrote:I must say I don't think it was a fix myself. However, you can't rule out a fix. Just think.
Situation:
Underdog fighting against a guy who's beaten him twice and who's regarded as one of th ebest in the world.
Fight being screened live on terrestrial TV as a possible pre-cursor to a move for the whole stable, or at least significant parts of it, back to terrestrial.
Fight being screened live in Asia to potentially huge new fanbase with all the cash associated with it.
Scenario 1:
Underdog wins, everyone's interested, terrestrial channel think it's a goer and look to screen more fights, making household names out of more boxing assets, Asia goes crackers for the lad
Scenario 2:
Underdog loses, everyone thinks he's just not good enough to beat the Cuban whose name they don't know and he may be just be another hype job. Terrestrial channel are much less keen on testing the waters. Asia doesn't go crackers.
With stakes like those, would it not make sense that someone might look to hedge their bets?
As I've said before, I'm not saying it was a fix, but given the circumstances and the comparatively lacklustre display from Kindelan, you can't rule it out in a sport like boxing.

I do agree the commercial motives are all there. In any other business you would expect to ensure everything was in your favour when launching a new venture.
Perhaps in reality I'm just choosing not to suspect a fix rather than accept the likelihoods there could have been one. Either way Amir is a top prospect with a bright future, and that bit we do know for sure.

A fix can't be COMPLETELY ruled out, because we don't know everything that went on, but the way a number of people are talking on here is that it was definately and undeniably a fix
People seem to be ruling out that Khan fought excellently after training for a specific opponent for months and somebody that he had fought twice before.

People you really need to understand the difference between an outright fix and a fighter not turning up.
What motivation did Kindelan really have to give 110% against Khan? Sure if Khan hadn't 'turned up' himself then Mario still would have beaten him but really, it wasn't even an England v Cuba match much less the Olympics. Just a stage managed exhibition for Khan to 'dethrone a legend'.

Good point. As they say in Cuba - "No medallos, no gracias".Goz wrote:People you really need to understand the difference between an outright fix and a fighter not turning up.

well said come on chaps we should give the guy a chance.jeej wrote:As a side point guys, being disabled doesn't mean you have to own a wheelchair. He could be mentally disabled and that would more than explain the poor typing.
Anyway, I'm of the school of thought that Kindelan really wasn't that up for the fight.

A quick look at TheRock's earlier posts and their perfectly normal. He posted the "Advice for taking photos at boxing" or words to that effect and it was paragraphs of perfect diction. Now the troll's claiming to be disabled and his grammar has gone full circle to neanderthal. IT'S A TROLL!!jeej wrote:As a side point guys, being disabled doesn't mean you have to own a wheelchair. He only had to reach the United States and turn pro to guarantee himself several million but turned all that down to lose his last fight against some 18 year old for a coulple of grand?
There was something strange in the way he lost, i wish the Cuba Camp had said he was not very well or something.
The other point Amir is still not the best at that weight, he will have to box Kindelan 2 more times yet and win them both to make it 3-2 Which wont happen!
World Champ by the time he is 21, i would bet my house on it.
There is already a new WBU belt with his name on
Possible there could be a new World title the WFW just for his fighters
