bollox, yea mate to be fair was a pretty low week for kiwis all around the world and of course the family and friends of the miners!! There were two aussie blokes also so thoughts go out to there friends and family over the ditch!

Just shows us how precious life really is mate!! Enjoy every day!

Watched the memorial service today on t.v and actually got quite angry, they turned it into some sort of religous freek show I doubt very much that many of the minors were religous at all they were down there because it paid very well simple as! It's horrible that they died and it's heartache for N.Z and it's people and aussie, scotland and south africa but that jesus sh*t bullsh*t rubbish - they didn't help any of the minors families today, it was cringing. Guess I'm the bad boy! Didn't mean to come across as so frank.

Fair enough, we're all entitled to an opinion. A bit was shown here, probably the same service. There was a report that underground mining may be banned in NZ. I imagine this won't go down too well

You should have started a thread saying the mood is pretty sombre in N.Z because the currency is shit compared to the Aussie dollar and the wages are just as bad! The people are a hundred times nicer though, even though it won't stop raining.

To ban underground mining would be a disaster!! So many people rely on it as a source of income not just the miner but the community that surround the mines. You enter mining knowing the risks involved. Its a god damn shame those miners lost there lives but Banning it is a knee jerk reaction to try and heal wounds with a band aid. Im sick to death of this country (NZ) trying to cotton wool everything, the PC brigade and minoritys dictating what happens!! Its a joke! I dont agree with the highly Christian based ceremony either. It should have been a celebration of those miners lives a chance for people to get together and mourn there loved ones and to reflect on the lives of those lost, not a chance for the christian religon to be slammed in everyones face!
