Cotto vs Abdulaev

Funny this fight hasn't been discussed a little bit more - whilst on paper it looks like a simple title defence for Cotto (and I must say, I've been a little dissapointed in his choice of opponents so far in his reign) it must be noted the Cotto struggled like anything last time against Corely who is not noted for a punch.

He seemed absolutely dead at the weight, and if he has taken the underated Abdulaev lightly could be in for a surprise.

This fight as got some intrigue because of Cotto's dissapointing showing last time. I'm not saying he won't be a great champion - but it might be at Welterweight.

No, Corley caught him through Cotto's own fault of trying to blast everyone out of there. He believed his own hype a bit. Hopefully he'd have gone back to camp and got back to boxing. Then the Cotto train will roll on as normal.

it'll be interesting to see how Cotto's weight works out this time. I'm going with MA to spring the upset anyway, if only in protest at boxers coming to fight 2 weight classes above their opponent. And still getting wobbled.

Abdullaev is not to bad, i presume this fight is primarily to avenge the Amateur defeat? Because Abdullaev has hardly set the world alight as a Pro so far. He is a decent body puncher though so if he lands a few early it will be interesting to see what happens as the fight progresses with Cotto being so tight at the weight.

I'm not sure if Abdullaev is the mandatory. He has been long time Intercontinental champion.

Thought Hatton was the mandatory?

Abdullaev was like 5th in the last WBO rankings I saw... but ofcourse everyone else might be busy?
