That was a cracker between Haughien and Ryan, Haughain would of been a better opponent than the Ghanian that Brook's fighting!

Frampton was superb he picked his shots brilliantly, I really think he can go far! I'm not sure about him and Quigg that would be a really interesting one, ATM I would favour Quigg

Frampton looks top notch, ridiculously fast hands and very accurate as well.... was very impressed and i'd back him as a big favourite over Quigg.

His team seem ready and confident to put him in with anybody after the fight

Frampton did look very impressive tonight. Its the first time I've seen him and he strikes me as someone with a little bit extra. Showed good composure and picked his shots extremely well.

p.s. Commentators saying he was 2% body fat hahaha. I've never heard as much shite in my life!!

The figure they were quoting was 2.8%, GAV. Jake McGuigan told me that in the afternoon and his brother Shane is doing Carls nutrition. He was on what they called a "caveman diet", that's nothing that wouldn't have been available to a caveman, meat, eggs, nuts, berries, fruit, water etc.

Up close Frampton looked in absolutely fantastic condition.

Thats right it was 2.8% but I'd be wary as to how they measured that. Do you know if they used Harpenden calipers, the Bod-Pod, DEXA scan or another method?

I'm familiar with the caveman diet and have recommended it to some of the people I've worked with before. Even gave it a try myself. Its not for everyone and requires a good deal of dedication but it is a good one for fuelling your workouts while forcing your body to use up some of its triglyceride stores without completely eradicating muscle glycogen.

My reservation is more about the figure. I've measured bodybuilders with body fat so low that you could see the striations in their muscles from head to toe and every vein was on clear display. They came out at around the 4-6% level. Obviously I didnt see Carl at the weigh-in, but in my experience body fat less than 3% is very hard to achieve whitout seriously compromising health. Carl was lean, from TV I was assuming somewhere around 7-8%. I just feel that for young boxers who may be looking up to Carl, quoting 2.8% may lead them into some unhealthy practices in a hope of emulating his conditioning.

Regardless of body fat, the guy is a talent and his conditioning looked incredible. If you speak to Shane again could you do me a favour and ask him how many weeks Carl was on the Caveman. Was it throughout camp, near the end or is that his daily diet regardless? Problem with being a nutritionist is that you always want to know about peoples experience using methods that you've tried!

at the risk of stating the obvious, low bodyfat % isn't necessarily a guide to fitness, and people don't always tell the truth about these things.
