Scott now has "dickie" knees so won't be that mobile, despite showing a great turn of speed to effect a certain tackle against the hapless chooks in 2003!

Hey guys, Just to let you know, Scott Sattler went really well on Saturday night, he puts them together pretty well and can fight a bit, if he continued on, he would go ok.
Now don't get me wrong, he's never gonna win the Australian or the WBC world title, but he would be a good solid contributor, he would beat quite a few blokes that are going around now i think, plus he is very popular and could be a small drawcard on any fight night.
His style was good, he looked confident and gave away size and a bit of weight to Chooky Fowler who also goes well, So with a little tinkering etc, Scotty will settle down and could be good little fighter.
He did something which we never see today, and it was used well by Scott, It was the cross arm defence, real old school stuff, I was pleased to see it used, cos no-one uses it today and it's effective, I'd probably say his father Johnny who is a terrific bloke and who was present to watch his son, would've taught him somewhere along the way.
Anyway, well done to him for having a go, Also the other Scott, Scotty Prince looked really good as well, he boxed 4 rounds against two opponents, these guys being professioanl athletes are just good at most things they do, they created a lot of interest at Jamie Myer's show and the crowd really lit up when they entered the ring.
Anyway, just my two Bobs worth, good night of boxing from part time boxers who can fight a bit, good to see

His father was good with the knuckle, but that was mainly in scrums.
Old John was as tough as nails. Played through most of the 1970 Grand Final for South Sydney with a broken jaw after John Bucknell of Manly king hit him in the opening minutes of the game.
That is not to say that John Sattler was a shrinking violet. He jobbed his share of footballers in his day.

Yeah i heard all about him Brute, Being an AFL man from Melbourne originally, i knew little of the League guys and just how tough they actually were.
I have met Johnny and had a good chat to him a couple of times at functions, and he is a pretty decent bloke, I would imagine he was the sort of bloke he would crash straight through you, give you one to go on with and then have a beer with ya after the game, but while he payed it hard, i think he would've played it fairly as well??
Anyway, it was good to see his young fella having a go, I thought prior to the fight it was going to a tough fight for Scott, Cos i did Chooky's fight with Hoppa and again a month ago against Alex Leapai's brother, he has improved heaps and is going well, he is another good bloke to chat with and loves a fight.
Also, Scott gave Chook approx 12 kilos, so it was no mean feat to get away with the win after spotting him that amount of weight.

John Sattler (Satts) was a hard man amongst hard men at the time. Being a front rower, when scrums in those days were rough and tumble affairs (unlike the powder-puff examples of today), Satts would mix it up with the best and fell foul with the refs on a regular basis, sometimes on suspicion. He was no ball player but a tough defender and scrummager and cowered many an opposition front row (especially those from Manly).

Satts was never very big either. I doubt that he ever weighed 14 stone. He was just hard.
